As per the thread in General Chat, fixed my wobbly side stand with a free washer made from a PET bottle. Simple hack and seems to have done the job too. Both my gears and my side stand have been oiled. ____________________ TG. |

Today, whilst wasting my life on youtube, I came a cross a ''random google algorythm'' video, where a lad made crisps in less than 5 minutes in his microwave.
I tried exactly what he did and it worked! The result was so good, that I forgot to take a picture of the finished product.
Pealed potato, thinly sliced, on a plate + baking paper brushed with oil and some seasoning on top. 6 minutes on 900W in my microwave. The only down side is that I can't fit many crisps at once on the plate, so the process is tedious, if you want a ''full bag'' experience. I might gonna try to get one of those ''twin plate'' solutions for microwave ovens. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Hmmm, hopefully a little bit of oiling maybe?
Talking to someone who is okay with non mainstream bikes.
They’re prepared to take a look at my “project Scrappy Hyosung” and give me a diagnosis regarding the health/viability of the engine.
Starting to try and get Project Scrappy Hyosung going again ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

I stayed in bed almost all day until about 5 when someone rang me on videophone, and so I had to get up.
But it felt like the right place to be.
I like a bit of a sleep-in, but I can't usually stay in bed for much longer than an hour or so after actually waking up.
So I stayed there and was an invalid for a day, listened to an audiobook and did a bit of sleeping.
The cats came and went, one of them threw up some sort of plant matter, but luckily it went down the gap between the window.
I felt much better, except that this headache had moved to a new place in my skull. But at least I know that's what it is, and not brain cancer, a stroke, or meningitis, etc. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

I've managed to resurrect my laptop with the Italian operating system.
For some reason (possibly an excess of fried chicken crumbs) its keyboard finally packed up just before Christmas, but as it was an integral keyboard, I had absolutely no idea what to do, due to my earlier meltdown.
But whilst tidying up in my living room (!) this weekend after noticing the radiator leak, under the chaise longue I found an old keyboard from an ancient tower PC, so I decided to try plugging it into the Italian laptop and (of course) it worked.
Just as well it didn't occur to me to buy a new USB keyboard earlier then, wasn't it?
I am now optimistic that by being fully equipped with correctly-working technology, I might manage to start up the tower PC as well, copy everything off its hard drive into my dropbox, and finally throw the goddamn thing away (I've had it since at least 10 years) ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

When I started my tea/dinner/evening meal, I had no idea what I was going to have.
I ended up with a bowl of red salmon (juice drained off) accompanied by a massive dollop of natural yoghurt, and then ground something from a plastic grinder entitled "Gordon's Garlic", which involved salt, pepper, thyme and garlic, just lightly over the yoghurt.
It was fucking awesome and I am tempted to go back and make some more.
Sounds boring, was wonderful.

Maybe start a foodie experiment/recipe thread.
Should be fairly successful. |

Had a guitar up for £100 on eBay, got an offer for £50. "£60 and I'll throw in a guitar strap, tuner, etc." counter offer comes back: £51. FFS, that's not even playing the game
And just now: sold, at full price I almost want to message the first ppl just to go "ha! cheapskates!" ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

My daughter.
I was a bit upset yesterday morning, so I thought I would ring Anita, as it was still Friday night in Australia, and hopefully she wasn't out on a hot date.
But she was home (yay!), slightly drunk, and made me laugh by pretending that the camera froze on the video call.
At first I fell for it, but then when I realised, we kept trying to pull the same joke on each other all the way through the call.
Childish, I know.
But it made me laugh.
I must have done some awesome parenting somewhere along the line, for her to turn out the way she has ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |
