Norton also made a rotary in the mid eighties which was superior to the RE5 ,and faster, initially made for a government contract but turned into air cooled and later water cooled

i remember the norton f1 rotary winning a lot of races in the early 90's.
i think it was classed as a 750?
even saw them on the road a few times.

The AA or RAC had them and a few police bikes about for a very short while.

No ,i think your wrong, there was never reliability issues with the engine in my experience, but there again i was only part of the development team.
The engine is still in use as a single rotor power plant for drones thirty years on. Cool

I was working for a Suzuki dealer we debated selling them but at least two of us from the workshop would have needed a weeks training and the sales guys a days so no go
there very demanding maintance wise !

I ridden one FANTASTIC in 1977 friend in Suzuki owners club

I have got a customers one in my stores waiting parts!
