The appearance of an updated 2021 Hayabusa means that the world has not totally gone to sh*t and life still has meaning (well - for me anyway).

Got to get one of these Busa things before I die (the two aformentioned events could end up being closely connected Mr. Green )

I agree it hasn't been updated much but at least they are still building it - what with Euro 5 (or whatever it's called) killing off much loved machines.

I always thought the Busa looked like a Walrus.

The end cans on the new one are not helping Laughing

But yeah, credit where it's due for building the thing.

Love it. Thumbs Up

Except for the bit in the ad where it says electronic stuff makes it more predictable. Bollox to that. A busa should try to mess with you.

Yeah - I know what you mean - it always looked like it had slightly melted in the sun to me - and I would personally go for a litre GSXR over the Busa - although I would like to get a Busa at some point - but I'm pleased that a bike like this is still with us after 20 years - it's hopefully an encouraging sign for the future.

Yeah - a touch of insanity is preferable to too much sanitisation when it comes to motorbikes Mr. Green

My Gen 2 Busa is the only bike I've regretted getting rid of. It was pretty much the perfect all round machine.

I definitely see my self shelling out for one of these!

I loved my gen 1 version. If it had been the copper coloured version it would still be in my garage now. I so wanted that one.

It's still ugly, but slightly less ugly. It's not ZZR1200 ugly.

That said, I love it that they're still making this.

It's like saying "Go hunt a rabbit. Here, take this AK-47." Shocked

Anyhoo, I'm an ity-bity, teeny-weeny Cornish Piskie. I make it policy to avoid bikes where the label "crushing hazard" would be appropriate Laughing

I don't see much at all different in the frame. They are making a big deal about the extrusions but they have been used since Gen 1. Headstock might be different but the frame spars, engine hanger, tubular cross brace, rear cross-member and swing-arm look nearly identical to the older frames.

I mean it's a bloody good frame, and doubtless the reason for the bike's incredible stability, but it's not really that much different at all.

Drag racers are wetting themselves already in anticipation that a lot of existing Busa mods will fit this new bike.

I like the black / orange paint scheme Thumbs Up Might have to get a test ride to see what teh fuss is about, never ridden a Busa before.

This has just overtaken a new BMW in my list of big fucking intercontinental missile wants.

2 up round Spain that would be the weapon of choice.

Much want.

There was a time when I would have; when I liked bikes that were outright daunting. I'd ride one, but not own one now. I love that Kawasaki stuck a supercharger on a production bike. It doesn't matter that it's not something I could ever hope to afford, it's just something about possibilities, and I'm glad that some lucky bleeders do get to own and ride them. Even if they are as ugly as sin Laughing

I love that people put turbochargers on Busas and the like, then ride them on the road.

Nearest I came to owning total insanity was my tuned H2 triple. There always was an undercurrent of unease every time I swung a leg over that thing, and I sold it because I didn't think I could survive it for long, but I'm glad I did own it for a while.

If nothing more, such bikes are talking points, but most of them are actually easy enough to ride safely at sensible speeds if you want to. Quite why you'd buy such a beast to be sensible on is a bit beyond me though Laughing

Too many electronics.

Hill start assist? Reallly? It's a bike not a bastard Vauxhall Insignia.

Most of it's pointless and just added weight / complexity.

Still intend keeping my Gen1 Busa, nice and black, ( i've got the fingernails to match), fast enough for me without too much electrical gubbins on it, however am only 8 1/2 stone, 5ft 3", and getting more decrepit so is the last proper size bike will have. now its getting warmer is necessary to ride it to B&Q, toolstation etc. for essential items for the house.
