Ellopeeps.

For my 50th birthday, a friend provided me with a cigarette of a most herbidacious nature. She also included a Viagra, so not quite certain what kind of birthday I was supposed to have. Anyhoo, I popped said rollup in a ziploc bag, ready for my next camping trip.

I'm 54 now and the bag has resurfaced. It'll probably taste foul and make me cough my bollocks off, but figured it might still be giggleworthy. I've read a few methods of rehydrating tobacco (use a steam iron, seal it in a jar with orange peel), but wondered if the BCF collective had any tried and trusted rejuvenation methods for long lost spliffs?

Hydrate by providing the herb a high humidity.
The material will absorb it's fill of moisture.
Risk of mould mildew etc from spores included in the ciggy.

Quicker alternative would be to re-assembled with fresh baccy.

Or my favourite, a cooker top, a saucer and two knives.
Open the fag onto the saucer.
Hoi the knives into the heat of the cooker. Ring or gas flame.
Hold one's head over the little heap of herbs.
Remove hot knives from heat.
Scoop the dried herb between the knives.
There's not a faster delivery method.
Remember to turn the gas/ring off.

Do you still have the viagra? I'm hoping to be the first case of priapism after taking the vaccine.

Weed doesn't need re-hydrating and the tobacco can just be replaced with stuff that isn't four years old.

Take it from a retired professional.

Get new baccy.

or a thin slice of apple or potato if your Giro hasn't arrived.

From time to time move the slice around as not too over saturate the surrounding tobacco.

and just lay the weed in heavy like you mean it.

Probably not worth it for a single J but if you need to keep more fresher for longer, then I use Boveda.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Boveda-Humidipak-2-Way-Humidifer-Jointer/dp/B07KB2MM19/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=boveda+62&qid=1615345593&quartzVehicle=2164-2098&replacementKeywords=boveda&sr=8-5

Felt gimmicky but it really worked well at 62%.

It does not make a blind bit of difference if the tobacco is ancient.
You still get just as wasted.

If I'm smoking a joint I am not interested in the quality of the baccie, I am predominantly interested in the quality of the green.

I gave up gaspers years ago and so occasionally have to buy a packet from assorted mates*, I even acquired one or two almost-full packets from my next-door-neighbour when she turned up drunk and forgot to take the fags home with her.

But because I only put a little bit in each spliff to bulk it out a bit, I usually end up having the same packet of snouts for months.
And aside from being slightly more loose in the rolling paper (but which I twist one end and it has a roach in the other), really it makes no difference.

*last week I ran out and had to actually buy a packet, at a shop: Shocked Shocked

What we can take from this thread (so far) is that each person will have a personal preference.

I did prefer a moist tobacco over a dry.

Try smoking a pipe with bone dry tobacco compared to fresh. Night and day difference.

[Forgive my indulgence]

or say compare a hot knife to a bucket bong.

End result same but one will 'nicer' on the throat and lungs.

Red Leb to a red seal Black (one for the oldies there)

Slate to that gash that stank of diesel.

A poxy chemm'd skunk to a kush

Some of the last gear I had (and like a seasoned alcoholic has drunk the finest and poorest of intoxicants) was on some pure oil. Didn't smell and 2 matchstick sized heads of it smeared along a 3 skinner was possibly the cleanest and best high.

Y'know when they pick the buds and the gloves go all white with the crystals. I had lots of that. That could put a rhino to sleep if it made it through the 'Am I going on a whitey?'

Oh to be a social smoker...but no. I'm either a full-on toker or nowt.
I'll never forget the great smokes but probably have.

...and no I won't call in a favour. Smile
