Nothing to do with bikes.

One of the windows in my house has condensation between the panes.
How the Hell do you get rid of condensation that’s inside the double glazing?

I seek your wisdom oh mighty BCF Thumbs Up

The seals are fucked and you can either faff around trying to repair them or you just replace the whole unit.

Sadly you gave me the answer I already knew but didn’t want to hear Sad .
Thank you anyway. Thumbs Up

I was hoping someone might have a magic trick up their sleeve.

F*kk it! It’s the utility room window, it can stay like that if the worst comes to it.

Usually it's because the unit is sitting in water then affected by freeze/thaw cycles - because the drainage below is blocked or it was installed poorly without a spacer so it doesn't sit in a puddle.
If the frame is wood you need almost annual attention to stop water penetrating along the bottom.
You might be (almost) pleasantly surprised how easy and relatively inexpensive it is to replace.
They can eventually grow green algae inside which is harder to ignore than condensation.

This. ^^

If it's a PVC frame in any case. Buy a putty knife and a thin prybar. One of those big sucker pads with a handle is helpful too, I think I got all three in a "kit" off ebay. Order a double glazed unit the correct size, watch a how to on youtube then go and fit it.

Then sit down and wonder why they bother putting locks on houses.

What you need to do is save all those little silica gel bags that things get packed with, pop off one pane, drop a few in the gap and pop the pane back in. Simples Laughing Laughing Laughing

More modern UPVC windows have the trim bevels on the inside so that the window cant be removed from the outside. Not that it'll stop anyone armed with a brick mind.

FWIW I recently got a quote for replacing a blown sealed unit, 770 mm x 690 mm - ie materials only, no fitting cost - from an outfit called https://www.sealedunitsonline.co.uk - it was £34 incl VAT. Can't vouch for them as I haven't followed up (yet). They aren't particularly hard to fit bit easy to fcuk up the plastic frame if you don't know what you're doing.

There are also companies about who claim to specialise in fixing blown units by drilling a tiny whole in the inner pane, injecting some sort of hygroscopic liquid into the gap to absorb the moisture, and plugging the hole. Sounds an unlikely fix to me though.

As others have said, double glazed units are not expensive. I recently purchased 3 units with frosted glass for £142.
I would recommend using one of these for removing the beads. It'll set you back around eight quid and will be money well spent.

Double Glazed units can be difficult to knock out even with a brick.

Spring loaded Centre Punch (stolen) is the scrotes weapon of choice.

Cos I have to do two Lateral Flow tests a week, and every test package comes with one of them in.

... been just throwing them out in the bin.

No, it's inert. It's just porous silica (silicon dioxide) the same stuff that quartz is made of.

A spark plug works just as well I'm told, obviously with assistance from a hammer.

If you're really not bothered about it being obscured, you could just get some frosted window film and apply it; you'll never see the condensation from the inside then.

I have three windows which need dealing with in our house in the same state . . . so much for "fit and forget" double glazing.
