Hmm? Comfortable, unhurried, frugal, easy riding, relatively easy to work on, reliable, plenty of spares back in the day = all of those.

The bit of velcro in the clamp to get it to bite hard enough should have been a red flag that this was some darwin award shit but no, the bloke decided he wanted to 'show off' his custom linkage that no one has ever thought of before... Laughing

Hideous paint job ineffectual mudgards etc aside
I really do not like the angle between the rear brake rod and arm

Just looked at the listing, usual bullshit
Heritage class? wtf does that mean?

'Professional' only means you paid someone to do some work
and is not always a guarantee of quality.

'Reduced' to £5995?

I could buy a proper bike for that money

Quite a lot to unpack there. Seems being a cheap bike, divvys are a prime target for a 'custom' but it has pretty much 0 'classic' lines to it.

WTF is that tail unit.

Where do you even begin with that thing. The end can would be a good starting point, and what are those things on the sides? And the nastily executed tank pads, and the wtf tail unit... Laughing

I give some marks to whoever did that for doing that on a common-as-muck Diversion and not on a classic 80s bike. I can't knock him for that. Plus, the lockdown was hard on many people. Perhaps the culprit simply had to pick up some tools, even if the end result was somewhat destructive.

The damage on that Diversion doesn't seem irreversible - I think I could put it back with just the tail and side plastics and a seat. But the asking price from the dealer who took that in part exchange is truly delusional. The engines on those bikes are good but the first port of call before getting "creative" should be the rear shock and the clutch rattle fix, if they haven't been done already. Not sure what was going through the creator's mind but I wouldn't like to imagine, as I like to remain positive and not dive into a psych quagmire.

It's always better to create an interesting backstory to our own lives, than effacing the story worn on the sleeves of a classic or rare bike. Therefore I can't knock him too much. I do like the fact he chose a Diversion for this. If he'd had a much better sense of aesthetics, or taken some advice, he could have made an awesome cafe racer from that bike.

A Diversion is like a combo of a Meccano set and a sandbox.

Sure, not 'miserable' in the usual sense just seems like an odd thing to do. FZ750s are quite plentiful and many have been upped to 900+ CC with FZR1000 bits.. hey ho each to their own and all that..
