Honda Hornet 600 2001 model.

Have a flat spot at low revs, when starting off actually, power coming in with a rush, difficult to control at low speeds.
I have noticed that the original silencer has been changed for a Delkevic, would this cause the flat spot?

Help appreciated.

Could be, yeah. Has it got any other mods? Is the airbox present? No extra holes in the lid? No leaks in the exhaust etc?

Anything that is not standard in the drivetrain could well cause running issues - but check the small stuff first.

Are you sure its running on all 4 cylinders? Does it sound rough? Does it cough and splutter hard then kick into some power?

Are the headers original Honda or are they also Delkevic?

Original Honda headers will have link pipes between 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 down pipes.

Some after market headers don't have the link pipes - I remember hearing that this could result in flat spots/tuning issues.

And the later Hornet headers (600) had a link between 1-4 & 2-3.
- Odd really as I'm sure the firing order was the same.
