Hi folks.
Have just started riding my xr125 with the nice weather and all and its all fine and dandy but if i stall the bike or turn off the ignition and turn it back on again the bike will be dead. No headlight or clock lights. It didn't do this before and it seems to have gotten progressively worse.
I don't think its the battery because it fixes itself after about 10 min. If i come back to it and turn the key on it will fire up straight away.
I have tried cleaning the engine ground it didn't make a difference.
And also unplugging kickstand sensor, break sensor and clutch sensor
Any suggestions open to trying

Doesn't seem to be the ignition switch. I unplugged it and tested it with a meter working fine.
The bike will start just fine but after a few seconds the battery will disconnect and the neutral light will flicker dimply while stilling running.
If I turn the bike off it will not come back on until I wait for a period of time. I'm guessing some kind of relay is getting stuck?

More info, how old? R,U, using kick or electric start?
If the battery is rejuvenating / regenerating itself what is killing it when riding? Any battery voltage readings at any / all stages?
Have you a voltage reading at the fuse/s box when dead ?

2003 Model year. Not sure where the fuse box is or even if there is a main fuse box. The battery will still disconnect while the battery charger is hooked up so its not a low voltage issue

"""The battery will still disconnect while the battery charger is hooked up so its not a low voltage issue""

So you are riding the bike with the charger hooked up?
You come on here for advice but not answer questions.

No im not riding the bike with the charger hooked up.
Its not a battery voltage issue. The battery seems to disconnect from the rest of the bike after startup and does not reconnect until after a short while

remove the ignition switch and wire it together like a true criminal. Problem goes away... its probably the switch.
