What would you all recommend to make a motorbike seat a bit more comfortable for long rides?

My bike (CB500F) seat is comfortable initially, but after 3 hours it starts to get uncomfortable. The reason for asking is because I plan to go touring this year and 2022.

Lose weight fatty!
Or get an AIRHAWK cushion.
I’ve got one for one of my bikes, I thoroughly recommend them.

On longer rides I wear some padded cycling shorts under my trousers. Helps a bit.

Sheepskin cover.

But 2 hours is long enough without a break anyway.

Sheepskin

Used one for years and years.
You look like a refugee from ABR magazine but they really work.

I tried a sheepskin, it was on for about an hour and I gave it away to a mate. Bloody awful.

The discomfort is due to excessive pressure against the seat bones.

https://sqlab-usa.com/pages/saddle-ergonomics-explained

More padding to distribute weight over a larger area helps.

But its is limited to the available area and construction of the seat.

Most motorbikes seats are kind of shite for that.

Bigger 'touring bikes' get a better design but then that can limit a bit of manoeuvrability if you want to slice and dice the backroads.

As suggested, buy a pad or upgrade the seat. Corbin make seats. M y friend had a corbin seat. It was much better than stock.

https://www.corbin-europe.com/

(You should start making shavings on the domestic budget around about last week.)

https://www.corbin-europe.com/product/solo-saddle-for-2016-2018-honda-cbr-500r-cb-500f/

But the main issue is to try and limit time in the saddle to not much more than two hours (as has been suggested). And have a walk around for about 15 mins to relieve the dead-spots in your arse.

Thank you for the really useful suggestions to relieve saddle fatigue, which are:
1) lose weight
2) take frequent breaks
3) wear padded shorts
4) sheepskin seat cover
5) Airhawk seat cover
6) Corbin seat
7) Welsh (Wales) - I have read this to mean: it may be worthwhile taking a short tour around Wales first, to try out some of the other suggestions, before going on a longer tour to Europe.
