Dont skimp on it if you can manage.
Sleeping is THEE most important pastime humans invest in. Aim for min 8-8.5 hrs per night. Night better than day too. Night shift if a serious health risk.
Look for a fairly firm orthopaedic mattress.
We have a Rest Assured 'Pocket Ortho'.
It so good that I get back ache if I'm sleeping in hotel beds for much longer than a week.
My Mrs. loves it.

The one we have doesn't need turned. I think the springs only work in one position. Top and bottom direction remains fixed too. ____________________ Disclaimer: The comments above may be predicted text and not necessarily the opinion of MCN. |

The best mattress we've had was a super orthopaedic from Livinoff & Fawcett in London. Really firm and supportive and made from all natural fibres but not cheap - around £500ish. The upside is that they last for years - we had ours for around 20 years before we replaced it, and I'd seriously consider another one when the mattress we have finally gives up.
