Seems i have that typical issue with having a poor mattress.
lots of moving from one side of my body to the other each night and generally waking up with some back discomfort which goes within an hour of getting out of bed.

its starting to wind me up....

Has anyone got first hand experience of something like The Emma mattress or Simba.

Do they really help ?

Cant comment on the above but i recently got new bed n mattress from Dreams (I think it was them) but they have a thing in store that you lie on and it works out whether you need a firm or soft mattress etc.

Dont skimp on it if you can manage.
Sleeping is THEE most important pastime humans invest in. Aim for min 8-8.5 hrs per night. Night better than day too. Night shift if a serious health risk.
Look for a fairly firm orthopaedic mattress.

We have a Rest Assured 'Pocket Ortho'.

It so good that I get back ache if I'm sleeping in hotel beds for much longer than a week.

My Mrs. loves it.

The one we have doesn't need turned. I think the springs only work in one position. Top and bottom direction remains fixed too.

Never understood anyone that buys a cheap mattress. Say you spend £500 on a decent mattress and it lasts only 5 years. Is ~30p a night for a good nights sleep not a total bargin?

I think we have a Leesa Matress and have no complaints.

The best mattress we've had was a super orthopaedic from Livinoff & Fawcett in London. Really firm and supportive and made from all natural fibres but not cheap - around £500ish. The upside is that they last for years - we had ours for around 20 years before we replaced it, and I'd seriously consider another one when the mattress we have finally gives up.

first night on the new mattress.

was a little odd as its a lot firmer than the one we had before.
Which is something I'm sure we will get used too.

however my back felt a lot better this morning.
So much so that i could have easily stayed in bed for longer.

i will give it a week to get used too and see how it is then.

Don’t skimp on your pillows either. I recently changed pillows to a firmer one and overnight my normal neck ache disappeared.
