Now here’s a thing .
The Eastern European’s seem to have made a success of the car valeting service all over Blighty.
They provide a service that people want and are prepared to pay for.
So that’s cars all sorted, what about bikes?.

So here’s the question, would you pay someone else to clean your bike?

Clearly there’s not the market for a static/permanent bike valeting station.
So what about a mobile valeting set-up that comes to your home?
Could you trust someone else not to jet wash your air box or ecu to death?
OR is your bike just to precious to let someone else any where near it.
Or is it a case of “f*ck that, I ain’t paying for that!”

Your thoughts?

If anyone was going to valet my bike no way I'd let them near it w/ a jet wash. My mate replaces wheel bearings once a year on his gasgas - i've never replaced any on my klx. He's into his jet washing.

As for valeting more generally, I never clean my bikes unless it's winter - when I sponge the worst of the salt and grit off, then dry it off with rags. I'll do that once or twice a week when weather's bad. In summer the best I do is sponge the flies off the faring and maybe clean the crusted fling off the back wheel. Cleaning time always seems like a waste of riding time.

I've never been into pride of ownership because although i love my bikes, they're not lovely bikes iygwim. Not lookers, not classics. Well, my w650 was "pretty" - but it had to go cos keeping it clean was a right pita, and it didn't look right if it wasn't sparkly. It was also slow and heavy tbh. Oh and VERY uncomfy.

Not paying some idiot 20 quid for a shite job and too tight to pay someone to do what I can do and will enjoy doing myself.

Got all the right gear and time / space to do it properly.

There's a couple in the south. Mate had his done by an outfit called Ride Squeaky Clean. Sodding good job to be fair, quite happily shove it straight in a showroom when it was done, but I never gave enough of a crap to find out what it cost.

I have 3 mobile valeters that all cover my area. The best one is always busy - the other two are alright but not as good.

I have paid to have my bikes cleaned for the past ~2 years now. My back injury makes it too painful and I prefer to only get down on my knees for Pigeon to impart his wisdom unto me Wub

It also means days spent cleaning are instead days spent riding.

I just consider it a running cost.

I pay someone to valet the bike/s and apply a coating of ACF50 once a year.

There is definitely a market for it, especially the corrosion protection. Middle aged men working with some spare cash and lazy at the weekend.

I am particularly lazy when it comes to cleaning my bike/s. I just like riding them. Even chain cleaning is a necessary evil.

I use Sno-Fom and a Karcher to wash my bikes and car now. Busy Bee Me.
So long as you don't aim the water jet directly at any sensitive stuff then a pressure washer will do no harm. And gets into Knooks n Kranys easier/faster than a sponge, brush or cloth can.
I 'detail' Rolling Eyes the wheels with acid spray (Wonder Wheels is the best Ive found.) to remove brake dust and rinse it all off.
Dry and lube the chain and that's it.

Sometimes get a spray of 'Aqua-Wax' (Autoglym) and a massage/rub-doon with a microfiber if I'm going anywhere posh.

£20? The ‘car detailing firms are charging £500 plus - not sure they’re the idiots!

Eastern European "Valeting" isn't even in the same league as "Detailing"

Eastern European "Valeting" consists of them lathering your car in traffic film remover (which is pence per gallon) which in turn removes all the dirt and grime (great) and also all your wax, polish & sealants (not so great) and all the stuff that actually protects the paintwork is gone

So it looks great for a week, then will look bloody awful as there is zero protection for you paint, which makes the same punter go back for another cheapo "valet"

Win win for the valeter......... not so much for the punter

So to answer the OPs question, would i let an Eastern European anywhere near any of my vehicles, then its a hard NO thanks

Exactly. And the £500 would be ceramic coating territory - a paint correction / decent sealant would be half that.

My 911 came back looking better than it has in a decade from a decent detailer:

Sorry mate but that stuff is cack. Iron X (or similar) to remove fallout then Bilberry (ACID FREE) wheel cleaner for
a proper job, followed by any number of quality sealants.

Fallout = hot iron particles from your brakes baked onto your wheels finish coat but can be found on bodywork too,
Iron X won't harm paint.

Wonder Wheels is what I have in the arsenal.
I have used others with limited success.
I was over-thrifty once and bought gallon on Halfords own label wheel cleaner. It was worse than using a capfull of Sarsons in a bucket of water.

But I dont spend enough time detailing now so therefore I'm off the pace with the current chemistry on the market.

I'm sure wonder wheels might be beaten.

Googling your links.. Very Happy
