After a bit of poking around CMSNL, I'm still stumped.
High fuel pressure could explain it, but it looks like the fuel pressure is all handed by the in-tank pump with a simple one-line feed system. Can't see a fuel pressure regulator in there, so I assume the pump is also handling that.
There is a separate air temperature sensor listed, and it's cheap enough at about £15, part no. 211760048
However, if there was a problem here I would expect the ECU to have a code stored.
To dump in that much fuel, it has to either think it's very cold, on wide open throttle, or very high fuel pressure.
It is possible that the inlet temp sensor isn't working, but even then it should clean up when the engine warms up and the engine temp sensor shows normal operating temp.
High fuel pressure is possible but I don't see how, unless you changed the pump for something unsuitable.
Wide open throttle is down to the TPS, which you measured and found in spec.
At this point I would unplugging sensors to try to get it running in limp-home mode (if it has such as thing) or just basic settings ignoring some of the inputs (if it does that) to see if the problem can be isolated down to a sensor. If you're lucky, the system may be dumb enough to just run on a basic map using minimum sensors. |
