mainly around jolt uk servers mate, cos the ip's are easier to find and for the most part they are quite fast

go the https://www.jolt.co.uk and you can get a listing of all their servers, with player numbers, and map cycles and stuff

Be a bit dodgy to host G, only 256k upload speed. To host you will probably need a 1mb upload speed to cope with the resources that CS/UT needs. Better off doing it on LAN... But us northerners can't exactly join in... or getting someone like Jolt to set us up a server for a day...

I've talked to someone who used to do it (on ADSL I think).. they reckoned their server slowed after 8 players, but that was due to a slow comp, not the connection... if I do sort it out I'll give it a go first to see what it's like.

Ok G nice one. I am admin on a few servers, however they are hosted in the USA so lag a bit, however that is with a full server, so maybe 8 players from the UK wouldn't be too bad if I passworded it... bit harsh on Stew though, he's on 56k so needs a server in the UK really. I could *probably* get a server set up on the college LAN and have it accessible from outside connections... thing is I am not sure if the server is up 24/7, and the pc running it would have to be left on as well...

Jimbo, there is no minimum contract for 1mb cable. The 1 year thing is for the modem, once you've been subscribed for a year the modem is yours, but very rarely do they want it back if you cancel before the contract expires.
