In the end I’ve decided to take the option of a cheap ex school er6n to get me through this winter. I rode it on my DAS lessons, the couple run a garage as well as a riding school so it’s been maintained well. It’s very orange! It’s an abs model and it’s got heated grips so it’ll do for me, might have to get a top box for it.

I can think about hopefully swapping it for something more me next year finances depending. It was cheap enough that I shouldn’t lose much on it when I come to sell it.

Mate of mine had an ER6f for a couple of years after his test, and it did him proud. I had a go, and compared to most of the "commuter bikes" out there, it was surprisingly fun when you really gave it some stick. I'm sure it'll do you fine, and by the time you're ready to move on, you'll have a better idea of what you're looking for in a new bike.

That’s on the shortlist for the next one, but not until I’ve got a bit more NCD and a garage because the insurance was a bit steep and I’m fairly sure it would get nicked from outside the house.

Picked this up yesterday

Yeah, got some on order along with a top box and rack. Think I might get a render extender too, although they don’t look much better on the ER6

Took it off earlier, as I suspected it’s got a decent dent in it from a drop or two. Little bit of surface rust but tank looks ok inside. I’m planning on doing something to make sure it doesn’t spread, any tips? I’m going to leave the cover off because it’s living outside so I don’t want the wet to be held against it now plus o can keep an eye on it.

It’s done 32k miles and I paid £1600 for it.

I don’t think anything is twisted, pic was taken with a wide angle lens because the car was backed right up to it.

PS anyone want to buy a bagster cover with one broken clip?

Easy fixes Wink

https://www.motolegends.com/bagster/bagster-spare-parts

Their tank bags are decent or once fixed, flog it on, you'll get 50 quid on eBay for it

Will need to be a low monthly, less than £100 I reckon. I think the MT might be a bit too spendy.

I quite like VStroms but they’re far too much money new.

Check the dealer price - could be less than what on Suzuki website. I bought new Vstrom 650XT last year. Deposit was around £400 and monthly payment is less than 100 (over 48 months).
I decided to go for new one as I don't want to discover that my bike is bent riding 100+ Wink
