As has been said, there's no such thing as "Sold as seen" from a dealer.
They're trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities.
Not a dealer I'd want to be buying from. ____________________ Suzuki Bandit 1250

Bit of an update.
So went to see the bike on Sat, the dealers were really helpful and I didn't see a problem with the what they were doing - what they told me about the bike all made sense. They came across really friendly and easy going, not pushy at all.
The bike looked good and I took it for a test ride - this is where it all went wrong.
I expected more from an 850 in spite of it being a bit heavier, but it was pretty sluggish. The ride was great for comfort, I could see myself riding all day without aches and pains at the end - but twist the throttle and I could tell straight away I'd be getting pain from waiting for the speedo to rise.
Come Sunday I happen to be visiting an area where a 2003 Aprilia Caponord ETV1000 was for sale privately. I was sold before riding it TBH - just down to its history and how much had been done to improve the issues these are well known for. And then it was such a good ride...
It's a heavy bike, something I'll have to cope with getting it in and out of the garage. I think it'll be worth it though, once riding it the weight seems to drop of and it feels a very comfortable, agile bike - I even managed a tight U turn without a leg down, not bad coming from a lightweight F650!
So it'll be in my garage tonight, and as an extra bonus I've already sold my bike 12hrs after advertising it. ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.
(7 year gap), BMW F650 (Relaxing ride). Aprilia Caponord ETV1000 (Big and bold). Yamaha FZS600 (got me in trouble too quick!).
Current: Yamaha TDM 900 (Comfy, light but big, power when needed). |

I bought an R850R in 2009 to slow myself down and it was an incredibly tedious bike. I also received my format ever speeding ticket on it in Anglesey after picking my son up from his grandparents
I nearly gave biking after that as I was so bored and paranoid. Instead I bought what was my dream bike at the time - a VFR800FIY- and fell in love with biking again |
