confused about front suspension

so this is probably a really silly question...but what's the difference between front bike forks that are the bumpy rubbery kind vs the solid metallic?

(just passed my test, looking at getting a road legal enduro bike and the same models have different forks even within the same manufacture year, so im guessing there's no big difference?!)

The bumpy rubbery ones as posted above are forged from pure flexanium. Demand nothing less.

Obviously red ones are best but dont rush to red an unsuited machine may not handle such boing as offered by red flexanium. Black would be a good starting point.

Never buy blue ones thats synthetic flexanium and performs poorly.

I think you are talking about gaiters, they are the orange things in the post above. They are not a type of suspension, they are just plastic covers that go over the chrome fork tubes. Some bikes have them some don't. I think they look ok on dirt and enduro bikes, but shite on road bikes.
