Our local Tesco had one tenth of the fresh stuff it usually has last weekend. Yesterday it had about half. It is what Boris and Gove will doubtless describe as a 'teething problem'.

It is the start of the rise of the market town and a contemporary feudal system where those who can grow their own. Mark my words...

it's a return to what you'd call seasonal UK grown produce.

Not grown in Spain and ordered direct / packed in Spain and delivered to a UK dist centre 24 hours later with a 1 hour booking slot and an advance shipping notification so it's able to be picked and ordered before its even here.

Those days have gone.

I worked for a major salad grower a few years back when all this madness started.

Cucumbers and Aubergines can be grown here under glass but some of the more exotic stuff can't.

Agreed it's about time.
