Wow 15 years ago I started this post and it’s still going strong, many years have come and gone and I pray that all my friends and fellow bikers on here that posted are still all alive and well, the years have passed and the miles rolled on, I’m now over in the Philippines and all I see flying around everyday are little mopeds and scooters.
That said I’m now stuck here in the UK due to the lockdowns here and over there and last weekend was just great seeing all the big bikes back out on the roads again, just making myself jealous of not having a bike over here but it’s on the cards for when I move back.

Would love to see all my old friends and people on here that posted 15 years ago to see what bikes they have now or if they have given up the bikes ☹️ God bless to you all stay safe and stay rubber side down

It's so nice to see some of the older members still around, I've only just got back on to BCF myself after many years away. I took quite a large gap in biking after my RD350 was stolen while not insured (12+ years), it really put me off.

I've been tidying up my hacky bandit over lockdown, stripped back to frame to try and clear out some of the rust. I'm currently waiting for a cylinder head/exhaust bolt coolant leak to be fixed before I can get it MOT'd and back on the road. If it's riding well I may re-strip it next winter and actually paint the frame properly along with the panels.

Sold my K1 1000 last week, managed to go 1 week without a GSXR before feeding the addiction with this. Needs a battery and clutch slave cylinder rebuilding.

Thanks, we made an effort to preserve it as the original factory spec (it's my father-in-law's bike.) Not great starting from cold but goes like stink once warmed up Smile

Not sure if I've posted a picture of the new-to-me 748 so here's one I took the other day next to the teenager's Mito. It's certainly different to the S2r Monster and takes a lot more input to ride fast but then it is stupidly fast (and loud)

https://i.imgur.com/22rgl5l.jpg

People say that the Mito looks like the 748/916 but when you start to look, virtually nothing is interchangeable between the 2.

Here’s a photo of my 97 748 I bought it new. It’s a bike I never plan on getting rid of. I don’t ride it that much anymore as I have a newer 600 that’s just a lot easier to hop on and go.

Well, I haven’t posted in this thread for a little while…. Rolling Eyes

After a break from biking, mainly due to having kids and the time constraints that goes with them…. I returned last year with a Duke390. The smaller bike was bought with the intention of re-introducing the interest for myself and the missus, but as M didn’t appear to be that interested I traded the 390 in for an 890 , which is more my size. Both bikes have proven to be amazing fun and it’s good to be back on two-wheels - even as one of those “born agains”.

That really does look like it's straight out of a race paddock.
