I've got a bike insured with Hastings with 9+ years NCB.

Just bought a second bike and when getting a quote with Hastings it says NCB can only be used on 1 bike, if you transfer it to this bike it will no longer apply on other bike.

Ok, so without transferring NCB, quote is £200, with transferring it the quote is £117, but then what happens to my original policy that is halfway through if I do transfer?

Do they say that as you no longer have any NCB on the first bike you'll have to pay an extra £X pounds on top of the original premium that you paid 6 months ago because that was based on your 9+ NCB?

Yes you can only use a ncb on one policy at a time.

You can build up a ncb on two separate policies

You'd have to ask the insurers; but it sounds a bit odd to transfer a NCD off an existing, on-going policy. I can't imagine they'd do that while leaving the existing policy still running; the maths involved in working that out would be interesting

I think it would be a case of cancelling the policy on bike 1, releasing the NCB to be used on bike 2.

New policy on bike 2 using NCB, and new policy on bike 1.

Yes, although also expect to be stung with a 50 quid minimum admin fee for cancelling, even if taking the new policy out with the same company (check your small print before you call them for fees) and as an extra fuck you, you will lose the year of ncb that you are part way through.

I still don't understand how multi-bike policies work.
I've got three bikes all on separate policies.
The cool thing is that if I claim on one policy the cunts hammer all three policies plus my car.
It's part of the fucking insurance racket.

Dis I say cunts?
