If you're too stupid/lazy to check oil I just assume you can afford new engines.

I check mine each morning, people think it's over the top but I don't lose engines at random either.

The shit for brains that tow in a shitbox car that's been run out of oil that start crying when they learn they are now fucked, it's hard but I can fap to it.

Just for the argument...

If you don't notice some spots of oil on the ground before you ride a bike and you don't notice a load of smoke as you're riding along where could the oil go? Into the cooling system? On that would the expansion bottle (if present) show a noticeable colour change?

You wouldn't necessarily get masses of smoke with oil burning.

It wasn't that noticable with either the FZ or the exup valdes and they are notorious for using up oil.

I did once a week with no signs that it was getting low. In addition to the oil level light for the level and pressure never coming on I assumed it was okay.

I have now come accoss other people owning the Duke and RC variant of the 125's and it does appear engines hit this catastrophic failure at 2 years of age. Expected cost of repairs being £2500 parts and labour.

A 2 year old new KTM Duke 125 19 plate written off due to mechanical failure at no fault of my own. In addition it seems KTM fail to keep customers wanting to come back. Of course if they can do something I will report back on it as it's only fair.

With the electronic side happening after a year the total cost of repairs of a £4000 125 come to £2500 engine failure and £900 on electronic issues. If KTM cover this then great but as it stands I can not in good faith recommend anyone buys these bikes.

The garage confirm no fault of my own. Valves dropped, piston burnt and damaged and rings gone. No oil leaks at all and as for it being at home prior I can definitely confirm no oil leaks at all. It would definitely show up on the driveway and would leave marks for a good month or two
