Can you confirm whether your switchgear is backlit / illuminated or not please?

Could have sworn I read somewhere they are but mine appear not to be.

Not sure if the switchgear is different on the SP as opposed to the non-SP...

Why would you be looking at your switchgear to need it back-lit.

The mind is completely and truly boggled.

I haven't done a huge amount of night time riding but coming back from Bristol last night in unlit parts of the motorway I found myself stumbling in the dark looking for certain buttons.

The gloves surely don't help, having more lightweight tighter fitting gloves would surely allow you to feel your way around more easily but my gloves are slightly cumbersome.

I don't wanna sit there staring at the switchgear for 10 seconds at a time while I rear end the transit in front of me. But having illuminated buttons would at least allow you to see in your peripheral vision where all the buttons are all laid out so you can navigate certain buttons based on where they're all situated as a whole. Certain parts of the motorway were pitch black I couldn't see an effing thing and had to kinda just feel my way around. Hit the horn instead of the flasher a few times and cruise control buttons are a bit clunky with big gloves on.

I just want to know if they're SUPPOSED to be illuminated or not as I said previously I could have sworn I saw in a review that they were. Mine aren't so I'm wondering if they're faulty or a wire has come loose. Or maybe I'm thinking about a review on a different bike that had them and I'm getting confused. Hopefully someone else with an MT10 on here can confirm either way.

Meh, dipped and main, indicators and horn are in the same place on every bike I've ever ridden.

Unlike cars where occasionally I have to read the manual for the car provided by work to release the fucking hand brake.

My horn and headlight flasher buttons on my bike are polar opposite positions to my wife's Rebel 500 Thinking

I think that's why I kept hitting the horn as I have been riding my wife's bike round a bit lately.

If you can't remember what the controls are for on your bike maybe it's time you gave up your license.

First time I drove that particular car model with an electronically activated hand brake delivered as a hire car outside the house with keys put through the letter box as opposed not remembering the controls on something you've owned for a couple of weeks minimum?

Not exactly the same.

Me too. I do like the fact it has cruise control but to be honest I would be perfectly happy without all the rider modes. You can't beat a pair of analogue dials as you can see roughly where they are in your peripheral vision. I do feel these digital speedos and rev counters have the potential to distract you from the road... or make it easier to pickup speed without realizing.

Thanks for that buddy.

I bumped into some bikers at the burger van last night as well and two of them had MT10s (one was SP the other was not). Neither of theirs were backlit. The guy with the SP though said he had a ZH2 and that has backlit switchgear, definitely would have seen reviews on that.

So yeah. I was just going mad, that's all!
