I have just bought a 2016 street triple and it sounds abit rough in idle but fine with clutch in and when your going, it had a service around 500 miles ago so I'm guessing it's just what they sound like because I never heard on idle before

Mine sounds... angry at idle, but not like it's going to blow up if that makes sense?

Have you been on Youtube and searched for bikes like yours to see if they also make the same sound?

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Pretty much every new triumph triple owner has a worry about the idle sound, they are kinda 'rattly' sounding by nature so wouldn't worry about it at all, my 765 does the same too.

Yep, same here, my 2013 675 doesn't have the smoothest of idle, and the cam chain tensioner is notorious for making a slight noise at idle, fine once you get going though

Glad you said that, mine is doing that too, which was a slight worry. I'm still at the "everything seems fine, but what's that noise, and have I bought a lemon" stage of ownership with my new striple...
