Do royal mail do pickups?

I ask because I was waiting for a week for something off ebay, then the woman emailed saying Royal Mail didn't pick it up and she was posting today (Tuesday). I emailed back and said please put tracking details on the 'sold page'. Today I got this........
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/~tsAAOSw0yRhRGhL/s-l1600.jpg

Is this legit? Am i being played along or something scammy? I didn't even know Royal Mail picked up.

TBH it's not life changing, under £50 all in but I'm pissed off with it being 2 weeks and pretty blatant lies.

Looks like a legit tracking number too, the 'recorded/registered' reference ends in GB but the straight over the counter stuff looks like that and you can use it to see when it has been delivered.

They've got to get business somehow.

So they have modernised and kept up with the way society is changing.
About fucking time, really.
Making us all queue up in the sweaty old post office for all those hours!

Yes. Your postie won't like it though as it is a time-consuming addition to his/her round that the managers do not take into account when whinging about overtime sheets. Also, rounds tend to be split between a driver and a walker, and if the pick-up is on the walker's bit, the poor sod has to carry that parcel until he/she meets the van again. Fine if it is towards the end when the bag is empty, but a logistical nightmare when it isn't.

Have a heart and don't do it...
