Any of you nerds use them?
I'd quite like to rid myself of the Samsung fast charger but I'm not entirely sure what socket to go for to get the same results.

I’ve not seen much/any difference between using a Samsung fast charger plug and a “normal” higher output charger in terms of speed. A regular socket with higher ampage USB sockets should be ok.

No you don’t, even the one linked above states 25mm which is the standard back box.

I've got a load of these installed and they work well.

Be aware that the 3.1amp output is shared between BOTH USB sockets so if you want a quick charge only plug one item in, they are also always live.

At the moment you can buy 2 for £15 so kep that in mind when you buy, they often have these deals.

Agreed, almost all of them quote a combined current total.

And they do fit in a standard box. I have some.

If you have a samsung as mentioned USB C charges quicker than the old USB A to USB C leads, so maybe a socket with usb C on would be a faster charge for your device.

RE Back boxes, for 30 + years they have always been a 25mm box, with a deeper 32mm being available, socket boxes were never as shallow as a switch box . .
As said a standard backbox will take these USB/mains combined sockets.

Oh no you don't. The one's linked fit in a 25mm backbox. I have 4 of them in my house.

A 3A wall charger will be much slower than a QuickCharge charger. QuickCharge gives actually fast charging but uses higher voltages to do so.

Literally never seen a difference on all my Samsungs. YMMV.

Does your Samsung indicate that it's actually fast charging?

Yeah, even gives identical times to fully charged. Even tried it across 3 different phones when I've upgraded. Official Samsung fast charger vs regular (high output) USB charger showed identical times to full.
