Glad to hear his injuries weren't life threatening/ending

I'm puzzled though
If it wasn't his fault this suggests someone else was
and I'm assuming from the pic it was a car driver?
I checked out of curiosity and DVLA and askMID says
ND57NZK is taxed, MOTd and insured.

So, as he was all legit, I was under the impression the at fault drivers insurance would be liable to cover the cost of replacement or repair.

Not an insurance expert but thought 3rd party would cough up for damage I do to other vehicles etc if it's my fault but not damage I do to my own bike.
I take this to mean even if the car driver only had 3rd party insurance it should still be liable to pay up for repair replacement
if the driver was at fault.

Police have said no further action and the guy who owns the parked car is claiming against my Dad Sad

What do the insurance companies say cos the police won’t have any part of that? Just cos they’re not issuing a ticket doesn’t mean it’s not their fault.

I see the gofundme has been knocked on the head

Spam?
dunno, hard to say

Well intentioned?
possibly

Not his fault?
Hmmmm....
It kinda was IMO and
I reckon the rider has to accept some responsibility.
SMIDSY cars pulling out is a fact of life.
Under insured (class 16 of 17) sports bike
We don't know how it was being ridden but fast enough for the
rider to lose control when a car pulls out.
This suggests too fast for the area and traffic conditions,
riding skills unmatched to bike or poor obs. maybe all of the above.
Rider knocked about but luckily not too badly
and dropped bike damages parked car.

Just buy him a new one is a bit of a piss take really
