So.... I saw this..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWRGJbvR8xg

and from that I deduced that dynamic is better than static.

Then this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEPLftT5mxw

...and a few other vids along the same lines.

And for the life of me can't understand why they all use the 'static' option when balancing their motorbike wheels, why would you do that when you have the option to do the superior 'dynamic' version at your fingertips? even the vids that show the guy fitting the motorcycle wheel attachment still set the machine to static Brick Wall Brick Wall

WTF am I missing? Eh?

Rear wheel on my VFR has never been balanced in 30 years because you need a hub adapter to do it and I don't have one.

I just have it done when I drop the wheel and tyre for fitting.

I've been static balancing my wheels for 12 years, no complaints.

I don't know the answer but if I had to guess I would say that it's either to do with that flexible mounting shaft or the fact that the wheel mounts to it through the bearings. Car wheels have a much more direct fixing to the machine which will transfer imbalance loads more accurately.

As I said, just a guess.
