I told myself I’d ‘earn’ a “better” bike when I got a second qualification, be it IAM, RoSPA or whatever.

In reality the ER6 currently exceeds my skills and ability by a reasonable margin. I could go ‘Whatever, I’ll get a twatting big/fast/heavy bike” and claim that it taught me to ride better. I don’t think it would.

You have the 125, the ER6 and the Jag. That’s 3 financial liabilities right there, my ER is in for a service and MoT, I have had 2 rear tyres fucked in 6 weeks (£230) and the fan is lobbocks’d (£200 new, if you can get it imported) and the front tyre is on the limit, another ton.

Stick with what you have and learn your roadcraft. It’s going to be cold/wet/frosty/shit soon and three unusable bikes in the garage is just silly!

I’ll come bike shopping with you in the spring Thumbs Up *

* assuming we aren’t buying some clanking great cruiser.

I think you're right, the ER6-F easily exceeds my riding abilities, the fact I crashed mine proves that. Arry made it pretty clear the best thing I can do right now is improve my roadcraft, I would have to be a complete retard not to follow everyone's advice so I am going to go do IAMS.

Also my Jaguar got written off by a nice Asian lady driver who sided into me. I am currently piloting a 2009 Vauxhall Vectra Crying or Very sad to be fair though I have little interest in cars, they are just a box to carry things I couldn't have took on the bike.

Happy to go bike shopping with you in the spring too!

My advice isn't to do further training. Not because it's not a good thing, but because it's time on the bike that makes you a good rider.

I'd just ride the feking thing for a while. You'll know when you want / need a different bike.

Just chill and stop fretting about things on here too much.
