So much this.

A friend got stung just changing suppliers and ended up paying both. I wouldn't trust them as far as I can spit, and thats before the present shenanigans.

A lot of my time in my old job was taken up dealing with this crap. I had a client once where it turned out he was paying bills on his neighbours meter and vice versa, he got a shock when it was sorted given he was basically at home ninety percent of the time with his heating turned up to the max. His neighbour was chuffed though but i never found out if they got back all the money they'd been over charged.

"people will have to buy dry wood"

That seems very unenforceable because the evidence will literally go up in smoke. Laughing

Only a fool would put unseasoned logs in their wood burning stove anyway.

People burning old pallets are nothing, maybe they'll learn that decent logs are far better for generating heat than old pallets but somehow I doubt it.

Thinks: I wonder how many folk will be tempted to bypass their meters this winter.. Only possible with a thicko meter I guess. If you do it right with a big enough switch you can run it alternate days so you still record some usage. Thinking

The industry knew about this two years ago. The Air Quality Regulations 2020 made it an offence to sell 'wet wood' i.e. that containing more than 20% water from 1st May onwards. Big wood yards have had to install burners and drying facilities so they can process the wood all year long, plus undercover storage areas so they can store it before and after drying, in order to achieve a steady flow of product.

All the wood people buy from B&Q, garages, coal merchants etc is 'dry wood' for this reason.

Not now we're out of Europe and a lot of the eastern europeans have scarpered. I had a client whos electric meter had been blown up pbecause some polish guy he'd got involved in with bolloxed up trying to fiddle it. When i spoke with the guy fitting the replacement meter he said most of the fiddled meters were done by eastern europeans.

So what you're saying is that it should be possible now that we're not relying on eastern europeans to do it for us?

Bunch of Pirates?

Bunshacunts more like.

Most incompetent mega-corp in the biz.

The kunts even have a hoowur of a big HQ at Charing X in sunny Glezga too.

I got shot of them years ago.
The other shower I'm buying energy from are almost as bad.
I'm leaving them soon too. Their director is outspokenly woke. So him and his workers can all fuck off.

I'll have zero emissions to do with wokery.
