Nipped out for a walk to the corner shop tonight - warm and drizzly - wearing a t-shirt and not feeling cold - and was passed by a gritting lorry spraying grit?

No reports of frost or ice tomorrow or for the rest of the week.

Seems kind of premature?

Perhaps (in order to meet emissions targets) they are trying to accelerate the demise of the UK petrol/diesel car fleet by chucking as much salt as possible at them so that they all dissolve, thus forcing the public to replace their petrol/diesel cars with electric?
