Kunt that owns that joint comes from a town in Turkey.
It was the first town with an airport we reached when fleeing over the border from Iran.
I remember drinking the hotel dry. Shocked

The tea you got, was it Russian, Indian or Chinese?

Edit:
Never thought the kunts grew their own tea.

"Most of the tea produced in Turkey is Rize tea, a terroir from Rize Province on the eastern Black Sea coast, which has a mild climate with high precipitation and fertile soil.[1] This tea is usually processed as black tea, though it is known for its rich crimson red color.

In 2004, Turkey produced 205,500 tonnes of tea (6.4% of the world's total tea production), which made it one of the largest tea markets in the world,[2] with 120,000 tons being consumed in Turkey, and the rest being exported.[1] In 2004, Turkey had the highest per capita tea consumption in the world, at 2.5kg per person, followed by the United Kingdom (2.1 kg per person).[3] More recent figures put consumption at 3.5kg per capita, or almost four glasses a day.[4]" wiki.

Only an idiot would pay those sort of prices.
The greed of the vendor is obscene/offensive.

I don’t have an issue paying for good food, but there’s a limit.

I actually get that folk should be able to spend their cash on whatever they like. But let’s be honest here. That’s obscene.
I’ve paid a couple of hundred for a meal for two , and it was amazing food / wine etc but paying the above sort of money is for people with no class whatsoever.

The clue is the location: Knightsbridge. There are plenty of other areas in London this exclusive too and plenty of venues that are priced to keep the riff-raff out.

One of my clients decorates tables not with a vase of posies but solid silver sculptures.

Was in the square mile a couple of weeks ago - went to Sweetings in Queen Victoria Street and had between us 2 x lemon soles, 1 x peas, 2 x ginger puddings and 2 x glasses of Chablis it came to £146 including service charge.

Sweetings is very good though, to be fair. You should have said hello, I'd probably have been in the Sugar Loaf / Golden Fleece Laughing

It was an experience anyway: not enough room to swing a cat and having to sit at long tables with other people you don't know. The one thing I did like was they didn't hold back on the tartare sauce - big fuck off boat of it for everyone.

Later went round the corner to the Phoenix pub in Throgmorton Street... was like £12 for a single pint and a spring water. Crying or Very sad

Holy feckballs that was never that expensive before. I haven't been in there this side of lockdown but was always pretty reasonable at ~5 quid a pint before.

I was only paying ~£12 on Cornhill last night for a Moretti and a Gin & Lemonade.

Landlords aye bleating about how the fag ban in public places is hurting their business.
I could be wrong but I always thought the price of their fe-king booze was a good deterrent.

I didn't realize you're native to the City. Next time I am down I'll send you a DM. I fancy going to the lunch carvery at Butcher's Hall sometime, I hear it's amazing.
