I have a very strange issue with my motorbike an EFI Sym Maxym 600i single cylinder.
When cold, the engine starts and after one second stalls. At the second attempt starts without issues. This happens always.
But there’s an exception if the tank is completely full, the pointer (or needle) is above the “F” of full tank this bug doesn’t happen, the engine starts at first even in winter.

When the tank is full something, electronically or mechanically, is triggered or clamped, and helps the engine to start, but I have no clue what. I’d like to start testing where could be the issue, any sensor or pipe… Any ideas?

When was the bike last serviced?

Have you tried turning the ignition key on and waiting for 10 seconds and ready for starting (as usual) but turned it back off and back on again for another 10 seconds and THEN press the start button?

A full tank has more fuel pressure but the bike has temp sensors as well.

Also safety / cut out switches can come into play.

It does not sound like a major problem so some thing else may come about for a conclusion.

Not sure, but I don't find that over simplified diagram of much use.
You don't mention year or mileage which doesn't help
but I see the Sym Maxi 600i has been around since 2014-ish
so may have developed age related issues.
pump seals, persished internal hoses/seals, fuel pressure regulator etc

Have you tried to get any DTCs from the ECU?

27k miles from 2014. Piston set and cylinder body are new from 25k miles, due to low compression and excessive oil consumption. Also valve adjustment was made by then. All those changes didn't sort the starting issues.

About the ecu, at £60 hour I prefer not to go to dealer, even the ecu reader is around £80 in aliexpress, that might be an option.

Thanks for reply Jaffa. Desperately I tried all of that and all sort of tricks.
Sequence starting, time delay starting, etc... No success.
Injector cleaner additive as well.
The ecu was reseted manually without success.
The battery has been charged to 14v overnight to see if any improvement... No change.
Also leaving the cut off switch on during night, and switched off before starting, nothing changed the behaviour.
