It's always surprised me how in the UK you can go into a shop and buy a big fuck-off power bow or crossbow and simply need to prove you're over 18 when you can get compound bows and crossbows that deliver arrows with far more energy than a .22 airgun shooting more than 12 ft-lbs and to get the airgun you need a firearms license including background checks, a safe, etc.

The moronic airgun licensing should be scrapped and everyone affected by it paid out of the SNP and Labour funds.

It's yet another reason the scots get treated worse than the english.

Danish white guy so they’re immediately saying it’s terror-related, although he had converted to Islam and “police suspect he may have become radicalised.” No shit Sherlock. He’d obviously misunderstood what Islam was all about.

Thankfully nothing to do with Cherokees or Apaches then.

Can't see them being much of an issue in Europe tbh.

I'm singing my happy song thought. Where's that fucking cave?

Crossbows (unless you have something really fancy) take a moment or two to reload? Or am I just thinking of that Game of Thrones scene Thinking Bows are much quicker (as the French know all too well) but are a bit cumbersome. Neither weapon is particularly concealable.

I linked a self-loading compound bow above and you can get a self-loading crossbow too:

https://www.amazon.com/EK-Archery-Automatic-Repeating-Crossbow/dp/B07ZQNWBDV

In both cases it will be a faff reloading the magazine but you've already killed 5 people in 8 seconds so...

Neither are concealable but you get out a car in a busy street and just start unloading on passers-by so who cares about concealment.

I am actually not against these weapons I just think there should be some more checks and measures on them like with firearms since they are deadly as fuck.

No need for arrows, if you're feeling a bit stabby, just get up close and personal with the infidel.

David wasn't all for it.

I lived in Basildon for many years and met David quite a few times. He was a good man, a proper hard working MP who actually cared about his constituents.

When my council garage was set fire to by kids and I got a massive bill for clean up costs from the council, I wrote to David and he intervened on behalf of all the people affected and got the council to back down.

A thoroughly decent chap who deserved nothing more than a long and happy retirement.

A 'friend' of mine sent me the story over WhatsApp and said 'still never mind he was a brexiter so every cloud and all that'. My anger hasn't yet subsided.

You're right! The BBC are burying such information by hiding it as their headline story:

Sir David Amess: MP murder suspect held under Terrorism Act

Quote:
The BBC understands the suspect's father, Harbi Ali Kullane, who was previously an adviser to Somalia's prime minister, has been visited by police who have taken his phone for analysis.

Well it’s been updated with that information now anyway. It’s noticeable that even the BBC can’t pretend these events are NTDWI now, they just look foolish in holding back.

There are now calls for MP’s surgeries to have restrictions and even police protection (although Gordon Brown, to his credit, said the answer to an attack on democracy should not be less democracy). Don’t they realise they’re not much more at risk than the rest of the population?

2 out of 650 in the last five ish years.

Equal risk to the generel public would be about 200,000 dead by terrorism in the UK so clearly they are at a much higher risk.

Importing slave labour young entrepreneurs is one thing but it makes little sense to me to allow in the overtly anti-Western flavour of Islam practiced in Pakistan.

Turns out the bow and arrow bit was a bit shit and all the deaths were of the stabby stabby variety.

You get a cathedral forced on you rather than a mosque

How are either forced on YOU?
Let's take the religion out of it for a moment. How do these often magnificent buildings hurt your feelings? Has socialism ever built anything as spectacular (not that you're a socialist)? Is all art and architecture anathema to you? How about a plain, block-shaped cathedral built of concrete, for your own religion of woke leftism? Laughing

It was supposed to be a joke rather than a prosaic complaint at life as s socialist.

I do live very close to the smallest actual cathedral city in the UK btw, and I'm not adverse to having a look round consecrated ground.

Always assuming I don't burst into flames as I walk over the threshold....

Didn’t it used to be said that a city was defined as a town which had a cathedral though?
