I've tried a couple 2000s twins and found them vibey and "meh". The speedometer did increase, but it just didn't feel the same?
I've yet to try the famous twin yamaha have been sticking in everything the last couple years though.

To me makes sense that medium sized bikes have twins and triples instead of L4s tbh, be it the R7, naked or a tourer. The high up and narrow powerband of low cc l4s just isn't a good all rounder or money maker.

Big bore L4's is where the fun's at tho Very Happy

Air cooled IL4 CB1100 dropped from Honda line up.
This model seems to be the successor of CB1100.

I could almost be tempted but what's the betting it'll be grossly over priced and almost no one will buy it?

CB1100 was about 1,400,000yen while Hawk1100 will be sold at about 1,100,000-1,300,000yen according to scoop article so it'll be cheaper than CB1100. And it'll be sold after NT1100, around next autumn. (to cope with Euro6 in 2024 ?)
Triumph T120/speed master looks far attractive but they are expensive(1,700,000 to 1,800,000yen) here, so who can't afford them maybe go for this bike.

I ride a Triumph street twin as an alternative to the wing, great for a different experience.

Being an old git it suits now. I think triumph really nailed this twins thing. There is a bike for everyone based around 2 engines, the build quality is good and triumph branding and marketing is compelling.

The accessories from triumph and others allow a lot of personalisation of the bikes which I like.

As for the riding experience its nothing like the vibey experience of old and any 900cc bike isnt going to be slow. It handles well now after replacing the pogo stick original shocks and installing progressive springs. It has character.
