If anything ethanol will increase the octane rating. As unleaded had ethanol added instead of lead so that children didnt grow up stupid treat it like 5 star.

If anything it's better than the 'premium' fuel.

If your vehicle has managed with 5% ethanol, then it will manage on 10% ethanol.

I dunno. Is E10 the standard pump fuel now? What about 2 years ago?

I think the premium fuel is E5. The cheap stuff is E10.

I think I put the cheap stuff in the last time I filled up, not sure. But again, was it E10 2 years ago?

You can get ethanol out of fuel by putting the E10 in a transparent container. Put some water in. The water will absorb the ethanol and seperate it from the fuel, then sit in the bottom. You can pump off the pure'ish petrol from the top. You'll have to eat the ten percent loss or bottle it, put a label on it and sell it to the off license.

Folded arms If I can get blasted on it, I'm keeping it for my own use!

I'm not sure that carbs age as well as injection, but I've never owned a high mileage injection bike to find out.
The fuelling on my current bike is perfect throughout the rev range, but it has had carb mods done. Still carbs though. If I were choosing another bike, I don't think whether it was carbs or injection would be much of a consideration. I'd be more interested in if it had been properly looked after if 2nd hand, and if new, wouldn't even think about it, assuming the model was known to be generally reliable.

Fair points.

Unfortunately, I have to consider emissions zones and all that malarkey so it's injection only for me these days.

Otherwise I'd probably have a (GSXR) modified Bandit 1200. Cool

Yes, injection is going to win this fight by default anyway in the end.

No, E10 has only been standard fuel since 1st Sept 2021. If you filled up with standard fuel 2 years ago it may or may not have been E5.

Well as a scooterist I want to know if the back wash of exhaust fumes
from E10 will have an adverse affect on my pre op ladyboi skin lotions.

If I have to keep nipping in to the ladies toilet to top up concealer
on my 5 o clock shadow every time I out for a ride, I warn you now
I'll be swinging handbags and scratching some fuckers eyes out.

I might chill the fuck out after I get my dick and balls cut off
in Thailand when I do enough blow jobs to afford it, but for now
don't fuckin test me!

On the other hand I have been having starting problems since E10 came in, which I didn’t expect. Not sure if it’s just a coincidence.
