Oh yes, not denying such things exist but going from 100 litres to 66 litres is dangerously close to divorce territory Laughing

Gears ground by my reluctant decision to abandon the Christmas party at work. Given Omicron and the onerous isolation requirements, plus a party timing that'd mean if I got it, symptom onset would be pretty much on Christmas Day, seems too much of a risk. Priority is family time over a work sozzle-sesh.

Family are grinding my gears Rolling Eyes .
Don’t get me wrong, I love them dearly.

However it’s me that’s expected to travel to them over the Christmas period.
Some live in Birmingham and some live in London.

Not a hint of “we’ll come and see you for a change” Mad

^^^Either tell them you've got a bit of a cough and feeling rough or say okay but it's their turn to visit next year.

Just picked up the car from the check over & service that is highly advisable due to all the mileage I'm expected to do delivering all the bloody Xmas pressies that are stored in my house because as we all well know kids & spouses traditionally search their own houses from top to bottom to discover where "Santa" has hid them so's they can tear off a corner of the wrapping paper to glimpse what they're getting this year.

& breathe.

I wouldn't mind except I have been given no opportunity to glimpse/open/play with any of the said wrapped pressies.

Plan B just announced. Sad

But what really grinds is the way the BBC cut the PM’s presentation part way through (not for the first time). How arrogant! Now we have to listen to journalists thoughts on the matter.

Depends on where you're getting your information from. I'm currently watching the full presentation on tv. However, I don't think you can allow yourself to - you probably have to think about what others think of you, wouldn't want to get labelled as "far right" Shocked Laughing

That was a bit uncalled for. Where did that come from?

I think it’s reasonable to expect the national broadcaster to show the whole thing. What channel are you looking at?

Too late. It just finished. I'm sure it'll be on the internet somewhere though.

Corrected that mistake for you.

P.S. A few of my old musical aquaintances have sufferred really badly, financially, over the last couple of years of this nonsense. I like to think that I have helped wherever I can, but you have to draw a line somewheres less they drag you down with them.

Please support 'live' music whenever you can. The alternative replacement in your new normal just doesn't bear thinking about . . . . !

Meh I don't really consider a sing called 'flowers in you hair' to be rock god status.

Going home drunk from a pub, while singing/yelling We are the champions, isn't really ''supporting live music''. Razz

It does when your chosen pub is the best venue in West Wiltshire.

Is that a famous in your own lunchtime type thing? I genuinely couldn't point to Wiltshire on a map. Not even a very small map like in the back of a diary where my finger covers quite a lot of it. I had to do a google to see if it was a real county. (although when I did, I saw at least they had the common sense to draw the county boundry in such a way as Swindon was pointedly left out.).

Got it done, from this:

Wickes are doing 600mm x 2790mm x 18mm panels for £25 - I have enough left over to make another shelf - and the shelves are held up by some studwork wood (2x 2.4m @ £4.75)

I'd probably know where it was if it contained anything interesting/relevant to me. Maybe the English equivalent of Fife?

Imber is quite interesting.

How about Calne bike meet? The biggest in the UK.

How about the storage warehouse of the Science Museum?

Castle Combe?

You're an animal person, Longleat has some big ones.
