Garage just phoned me and said when they took the front wheel off to change the tyre over the brake pad material from one of the pads has delaminated from the metal part. Told them to just change both pads then.
I guess I know why I hated the brake feeling so much on the ER6F compared to how the SV650 during DAS felt. Even said about the brake feeling in another thread where some guy was asking what bike to get after his own DAS.
Also told me that when they took off the rear wheel the bearings are on their way out and if I would like them to be replaced at the same time. Said yes might as well get it done now rather than it be a problem later.
They also said there is a dent in the front wheel itself but the tyre still seals, just to be careful with it because apparently it can fail an MOT if it's too deformed. Not buying a replacement at the moment, they just advised I be careful with it in future.
Not the end of the world, just another £100 in parts and labour.
I am looking forward to having working wing mirrors and new tyres the most though. The left mirror got fucked when I crashed the bike and the right mirror I self-fucked by accident trying to pull the rain cover off the bike at an oblique angle. ____________________ PRESENT: 2018 BMW S1000XR SE Sport.
