Today, I bought more bits for my motorcyle.
Once I was done rebuilding the front forks, I thought to myself I should rebuild the front brake as well, as it didn't really feel like a Nissin product. Long story short, I had to buy two new brake pistons, as one of the original ones was stuck shut and rusted and the other one was heavily worn. I'm also getting a new set of seals and dust covers for the brake caliper and I already bought a fresh set of sintered brake pads. The brake rotor has been replaced in the not so distant past and it's barely worn, so I'm keeping it, eventhoug it says ''Made in Italy''. I'm also replacing the front brake check glass and lever. The original ''glass'' is actually plastic and very melted and the brake lever on the bike is not the original one and feels just wrong. The brake system was full of ''mud'' as well. I'm also buying the clutch cover gasket, as I intend to clean the oil screen, IF it's even there, and I guess the old gasket won't survive the job. Gaskets are cheap, I'm not bothering in making my own.
The bike was very neglected by the previous owner and even after 2 years of owning it I still find things/screws/bolts/washers... missing. This might be the most labour intensive vehicle I've ever owned, but at the same time, it is the easiest one to keep going. I've got a steady job, and the parts aren't that expensive, nor rare. Well, I'm still trying to find a new final drive chain guide.
With each repair and adjustment the bike feels and rides better and better, it is actually a very rewarding hobby. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

I just bought some mushroom pasta which I had with cheese, and also two jamaican patties with curried lamb. But I left them in the oven a bit too long so they were overly crispy, and I had to soften them up a bit with liberal dashings of tomato ketchup.
I never normally slather things in ketchup, but it seemed like just the right thing to do to revitalise the pasties
It was bloody 'andsome. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Pepperami has bought bugger all lately.
No fishing tackle, no bike related stuff, nothing .
Expensive end to the month = car & bike tax + additional bills means no money for treats and nonsense.
Looking for a little car (hatchback) maybe?

I just checked what my shit wagon 2008 (58) Vectra is worth on Autotrader and it goes £1,250 - £2,000 depending on mileage for my exact model.
When I finally get a new car through the company I will be punting it for more than I paid for it by the looks of it. ____________________ PRESENT: 2018 BMW S1000XR SE Sport.

A second hand Hein Gericke goretex jacket from Fleabay for £51 delivered .... replacing the one they cut off after I suffer a cardiac arrest on January the 9th.
So, glad to be alive again and glad to have another jacket ... only another five and a bit months to go before I'm allowed to ride again, after having my own personal defibrillator fitted
All the best ... Barry |
