Depends on whether you view another example of government hypocrisy here, or possible military conflict in Europe as the most weighty of the headlines. They can actually coexist together, but I know which is most worrying to me, and it ain't Boris' antics (although having that clown in charge at a time of potential war doesn't ease my mind any). ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Not arguing with that, but I still think potential war in Europe is more worrying. It ain't Boris stirring that up. Try to focus on the issue at hand Nobby
You could always start an anti-Boris thread, even widen the scope and make it an anti-Tory one ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Today just a casual ballistic missile, hypersonic missile, and cruise missile test to demonstrate Russian nuclear forces. It's the sort of thing you do when you've got extreme tensions and a mere 150,000 to 190,000 troops on your neighbours border
Are You Kranian?
Maybe its time for a "nuclear defence test"? My personal recommendation is to fill lots of containers with water, and prepare to turn your window cavity and wheelie bin into dirt filled shields to stop the radiation coming in. Don't forget the threat from above, you will be wanting to have bags of dirty or other dense substances above the area you are hiding in.
Essential items to stockpile:
1. Toilet paper
2. Baking powder
3. Playstation 5's and graphics cards
4. Microprocessors and microcontrollers
5. Beer
6. Milk. Some to drink, some to watch go off
7. Solar panels to charge your phone, and porn so you have something to use your phone for
8. Pasta
9. More beer |

Or if you live in the UK:
1. Toilet paper.
2. More toilet paper
3. Even more toilet paper
4. A little extra toilet paper
5. Some additional toilet paper
6. Emergency toilet paper
7. Toilet paper for extra-desperate situations
8. Toilet paper for when the above toilet paper runs out
9. Wet wipes ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Aside from the initial neutron flux of the explosion most radiation dose is from long term contact with fall-out, which is basically dust. Don't go outside and keep your windows closed until it rains. ____________________ trevor saxe-coburg-gotha:"Remember this simple rule - scooters are for men who like to feel the breeze on their huge, flapping cunt lips."

I was mostly joking but if we being serious then I agree. In practice it's slightly harder since you need to know if the blast will hit you or not. If you are near the blast you need to open your windows to let the pressure equalize so you actually have something to shut!
For fallout then yes, close the windows. You will also need to fill the void of the window with dirt using wood to make a box as the glass offers basically zero shielding against Gamma radiation. And any breaks in the glass will need to be covered with plastic or tape to prevent dust getting in, but this is against Alpha and Beta. How much dirt and sand you put outside really depends how bothered you are about getting cancer. Most people are in this category except perhaps Londoners.
What people should never do is build a nuclear bunker as it will just become a grave. If you can afford a properly built nuclear bunker than you can probably afford a second home in Peru or other country not in the target zone |

With reference to the Cuban missile crisis, what did the US do when the Ruskies stuck a load of missiles on their doorstep?.... and a few years later what did they do to Grenada when they got too pally with the Ruskies...
Well, the Ruskies feel exactly the same way when the US/big business/elites payed millions in slush funds to cause shite in the countries surrounding the Ruskies neighbourhood, then low and behold the US want to offer them a sweet (for the US anyway) deal to make everything go away.
This senario is played out all over the world not just by the US, but by most of the western worlds governments, businesses and elites. Putin doesn't want US missiles on his doorstep, and if it looks like the current government of Ukraine are sidling up the the US, IMO, there's a pretty high probability Putin will go in, just to stop the US planting more weapons on his doorstep..
Unlike Brandon, Putin is NOT stupid, but we all know Biden isn't running the show, so it'll be chinky interests. |

In WW2, the advantage of Russia's vast size meant a huge hinterland they could withdraw war industry into out of reach of the Germans. Also, once they were assured that Japan would not attack their eastern borders, they could free up large forces from there to bring to bear on the western enemy.
But the Russian campaign was where Hitler first started to show that he wasn't actually a military genius, when he stopped listening to his military commanders. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Would I be right in saying that the pro-Russian part of the Ukraine borders Russia? If so, let Putin have that, the rest can be whatever it wants; independent, pro-western, whatever. Or is the argument then going to be over location of resources? ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I think I'm right in saying that all the countries under Soviet influence prior to the end of the Cold War had a sizeable influx of Russian settlers. Obviously a bit more meaningful at the border than say Cuba
Anyway, ethnic cleansing is definitely a European hobby. This article on WW2 Germans seems appropriate:

Maybe kicking all the Ruskies out after Ukraine independence might have headed off this affair. Anyone got a time machine? ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
