So my trusty little Suzuki learner decided to get hungry last week and eat itself up.
A bolt on the cam chain tensioner failed (sheared off) and from what I can tell the engine is completely shot.
Cracked casing on the bottom end, lots of shrapnel through the oil drain and all kinds of other lovely stuff.. I could go on but I’ll be here all day.

I’m in the market for an new engine, but failing find a GS engine? Are there any models similar like the GN, GZ, EN or DR that will fit into my frame?

I’ve heard rumours they do and I think I saw a very dated thread on here once regarding this very topic but I just wanted to check before I go buying an engine that either doesn’t fit or I have to make up brackets or do clandestine stuff to the bike to make it fit ( would rather avoid )

Many kind thanks for any help and advice I receive.
Right now I’m grieving and kicking myself haha.

Oh and also, where best to start.
I only know one breaker, friendly bloke
And I’m very new to the biker community.

If you stuck a feckin pic up it might help

but had a look for myself anyway

The GS and GN engines look almost identical to me
so I'd guess they're interchangeable or at least can be
with minimum faffing about.

the only snag that may occur is if you find a late efi model engine.
This probably wont play nice with an early ignition system
and harness unless you swap rotors and stator/pulsers

K157FMI engine out of something like a Sinnis is a Chinese clone of the GN/GS engine. I put a £40 150cc kit on one and it actually went pretty well, a genuine 70 or so on the flat.
