The Oxford ones come with a tube of superglue.

It isn't so much super in this application but mediocre at best.

I found it worked well - my Oxford grips haven't shifted since I fitted them what, 6 or 7 years ago? As long as the surfaces are clean when the grips are fitted it should be fine Smile

I don't have a problem with MOTs
Bike MOTs are pretty easy really
Car MOTs can be fretful if you have an old banger like me

Recently been watching US based "Customer states" Youtube vids
Some of the rotted out and dangerous shit boxes they get turning up makes you think they could do with an MOT type thing there.

here's a sample

Paying ~£40 per year for someone to point out "this'll kill you if you don't get it fixed" sounds like a bargain to me.

It's the old Tory tactic of vote buying. Buy em when they're cheap then sell out after the election. The latest one is bringing back right to buy and allowing housing benefit to be counted as income for mortgage application purposes. Hmmm flogging mortgages to people who cant pay them back, where did we see that before?

Help to Inflate has been a failure, and it was targeted at millennial Labour voters. It's not a party political issue through as all 3 party's were more interested in keeping house prices high and rising rather than helping millennials to get houses!

I thought the big thing about cars/vehicles was that they were ‘polluting’. So only emissions test every two years?

As for boats vs cars, in testing terms, if you could get a narrow boat up to 90mph in four lane traffic then I reckon you would want them tested more frequently Very Happy

Depends if its salt or fresh water Thinking

Varies for a lot of things. Inland water, sea, commercial or private. The 4 years is privately owned on inland waterways. Private owned on sea you just have to abide by the general saftey rules, (fire fighting gear, distress flares, radio and the like) but there are no compulsory checks (until you hit a certain size) although some marinas and insurance companies iinsist on a valid BSS inspection. You can also get a coastguard inspection when you enter a port although they are more likely sniffing for drugs than checking if your toilet conforms to international sh1t dumping rules! Laughing

Commercial is a complete ball ache. Inspections minium every 6 months with port state spot inspections randomly (like what happened to the P&O ships that got detained) just to keep you on your toes.

In other words "we can fuck with you at any time." Seems the P&O bosses forgot that wrinkle.
