Lovely weekend at the Senior Consort's house, waited on hand and foot, driven about like Lady Muck, pottered in the garden, went to watch some chaps racing around in karts at Bayford Meadows, arrived home today to a parcel of scent samples from Zoologist. Yay.
Oh look, and its a new month, I feel an invoicing coming on! ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Don't panic: I've started with "Chameleon", its very nice.
I felt it to be appropriate to myself
There really is one called "Civet"
Should be interesting, must find a sweaty disco to wear it to. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

I bought this 34 years ago, and now I've bought it again.
It was a devil of a job finding it in the first place. Recollection fades, and I didn't recall the title or publisher exactly right. Plus I thought it was from 1987 and not 1988. Anyway, this went well. Not just the last thing I bought, but something I've been looking for, for a long time.

Was wandering around the garden centre yesterday, trying to stop haemorrhaging money, when we bumped into the MOST gorgeous bull mastiff. Huge big handsome boy he was - called Cooper, a lovely brindle and only a year old, adorbs
The senior consort hasn't experienced me fussing over Big Dogs, so was highly amused.
As we were getting into our car, Cooper and his mum and dad ended up getting into their car, parked in the space in front of us. Their car was ... a Mini Cooper
The sight of the fella leveraging a 56 kg dog into the back of a Mini Cooper was hilarious. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

I remember them. You could buy them in English. I used to have a few years, including that one. If I recall they used to have all the Italian and Spanish 125s, stuff we'd only see on holiday. They were like Top Trumps in book form ____________________ Now - Speed Triple, old ratty GS550, GSXR750M

Went into work yesterday and was called off my usual job to shadow a couple of new starters while they learn the job.
Paid to wander around and chat, nice. My boss says that today I'll be doing the same but with three newbs. I've been
put forward for a permanent role as a trainer, minor pay rise but way more social and considerably less work.
Also managed to get the shed roof boarded out and covered with rubber. Delighted with the finish, doddle to install,
just have to tidy up the edges but now it's watertight I can finally arrange MOT the spacker and bring it home.
Saving £84 a month to store it elsewhere, which is approximately the equivalent of my monthly electric and gas bills. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Exactly so. I mean, look at the price tag - 35 francs. That's over £10 in 1988 money... So I treasured this, as a kid. The Italian, Spanish and Soviet now-defunct bike makes with their broad range of endures, trials bikes, various strokers, mopeds, etc. were all a major part of a world that has since disappeared. The bikes that used to be everywhere on the continent. Sports bikes and big enduros (600s were considered big at the time) were also revered. That was when Europe seemed to have a distinct motorcycle culture. Helmets were rarely worn about town, etc. Big aspirational thing for kids and young people at the time. Bikes tolerated and encouraged everywhere, and I would still prefer to own many of the bikes in this over anything newer today. |

I am rather pleased: 12 more sleeps 'til she gets here
Today my gears have mostly been oiled by being in a training session about the *exciting* subject of corporate governance.
Nice.
(I actually learnt quite a lot )
