Heya
So my r1 dropped a valve on the dyno a while back(the bike is standard) and ive put a new head on it.

Anyway it runs smooth, plenty of power. But after 2 or 3 minutes cruising at say 60mph the bike will have just a little stutter for a split second. Every few minutes or so itl just have this little moment, then be absolutley fine.

Weirdly its fine when going up amd down the gears. Its just when cruising at a constant rpm.

It feels like when a bike is about to run out of fuel.

Edit: me ol' man "charged the battery" for me. Well he left a fucking battery terminal loose.
Ive ridden it 4 miles and it hasnt done it since.

Worth a look. This is going to be a bastard.
A google search suggested cleaning the contacts on the tps.

Its got 23k on the original chain.
Probably worth replacing. Im pretty sure it has crank AND cam sensors.

Possibly O2 sensor? It's only used when in a cruising state, so if the ECU is getting a funky reading from it, it might cause what you're seeing.

Throw on a sensor eliminator and see if it helps... Won't cost more than a tenner if you go for a premade one.

Most FI bikes have crank and cam sensors especially if they have stick coils. The crank sensor tells the ECU when to fire the spark the cam sensor tells it which rotation to fire it on. Halves the firing rate of the coil.

I think that chekcing the TPS is a good shout. Too many nonsensible references might cause a momentary re-set or something.

As a side concern, have you updated the generator for the more recent one?

On topic; I would start at the top given these are ageing beasts now and start with the fuel system, flush the tank out?

Mine had this at about 25000miles in Germany and it was a faulty coil pack, super intermittent fault, the highlight being nipping across a busy junction in Hamburg when it dropped power and then regained it **booooost**

Also worth running a multimeter of the wiring harness as they can get corroded which can cause all kinds of weird symptoms

Ive done the generator thanks.
Yesterday it had a few BIG hiccups. It feels like more than 1 cylinder dropping out.

In this instance it was either A, low on fuel and the fuel light isnt working

Or B, it had enough fuel and this problem will make itself apparent very soon.

On a side note, the engine runs absolutley lovley in general.

See first post... I think she is fixed
