That's the thing i'd read. He doesn't see a world where Russia isn't in charge as a world worth anything. That he's apparently 'not well' just adds further challenges to the issue.

You can only trust him to do the opposite of what he says he's going to do.

He's massively paranoid and we'd have been dead happy for them all to carry on being Russians in what was Russia. As long as he's happy for us to carry on doing what we were doing on the other side of the border.

Ukraine being in NATO or not would have made no difference.

Has anyone else seen the figures of the decimation of both personnel and munitions on the Russian side ..... he's backed himself right into a corner that he's not interested in getting out of.

I wonder how much longer the military will put up with the excruciating losses before at least considering some kind of coup.
There are reports of their own soldiers literally dumped in pits so they can be considered missing rather than dead - like everything in this propaganda driven war it's probably unwise to believe half of what either side says.

What is it with Russians wanting to steal cheap washing machines and take them home.
They aren't the most easily transported loot.

I reckon it'll be the sanctions that do it in the end. He'll be walking down a corridoor one day and all of a sudden a bag will go over his head and the last thing he'll hear is "Nothing personal but Mr. Mogilevich say you bad for business.".

He's throwing a lot of rhetoric around, but I think it's bluster. I think if the West stood up and threatened him right back with nuclear armageddon, he'd quieten down a bit. If we think he's serious about his own threats, why wouldn't we?

He has made all kinds of threats about what he'd do if countries kept arming Ukraine. He's done nothing. He makes all kinds of threats about if Finland and Sweden align with NATO. He's done nothing. What is he waiting for? He can see that he has only strengthened the resolve of Ukraine and those who support them. and still his little ground war grinds on with disastrous results for his forces. At what point does he actually go all in, while his own territory is not being attacked? The longer he waits, the weaker he looks.

I'm not sure about the claims of him being physically ill. I think it might be wishful thinking on our part, certainly as far as anything terminal is concerned.

They are shite at making things.
Communist regime where no one takes pride in producing quality as there is no reward for extra effort. (There are a few industrious people but most of the commies ive met are kinda ineffective.
Their manufacturing is of very low grade unreliable and poor at doing what its designed to do.
Name a great Russian imported manufactured item.
Possibly the wankers looting washing machines do notneven own a washing machine. Theur next struggle will be to find an electrical supply to power it in their village out in the sticks.

Cheap and Popular doesn't = Great.

Basic, folded steel.

Reliable, and accurate enough for proles.

Not exactly the 'Spitfire' of handheld weapons.

OK. Apart from Novichok, what have the Russians ever done for us?

Polonium 210 tea. It was very popular in London for a while.

And not forgetting what you'll be building in remote, windswept parts of Scotland soon, if you keep with that Sturgeon character and her mob: gulags.

Nah, that's a British invention from the Boer war.

On Sweden and Finland considering joining NATO, Kremlin spokesman said:

"This is a serious issue, an issue that raises our concern, and we will follow very carefully"

Peskov also pointed out that in comparison with Ukraine, Russia did not have any territorial disputes with Finland or Sweden.

Oh really? The Winter War never happened I take it Rolling Eyes

Sweden will be a liability for NATO. They don't want to be in it but are covering their ass with Russia being aggressive. They'll find any way going to let everyone else fight any war for them.

An old article about Sweden and f all has changed.

Interesting run down on the pandora papers witch shed a less than flattering light on Zalenskys financial activities. The war has not just provided a good distraction for Boris's problems.

Admittedly I’ve had a few ales this evening but I’m struggling to see a reason to call Zelensky dodgy among all those words. As soon as you have enough money to require a smart accountant your financial dealings are gonna get complicated. Ask Jimmy Carr.

However, Ms Andersson stressed that Sweden did not want permanent Nato bases or nuclear weapons on its territory.

What a surprise... Also

Turkey says it will not approve Sweden and Finland joining Nato

Cue a large anonymous swedish donation into the coffers of some prominent Turkish folk.

They'd be the first to bleat on about needing armed NATO on their soil if Putin decided to drop in for afternoon tea.

As for Polticians and bent funds .... it takes a special sort to want to be in power / charge and you don't get there by fair means when the surface is scratched.

Is Zelenskyy a good leader - without a doubt. Without him they'd have been Russian by now.

The difference is that Russia without Putin wouldn't have been suffering as it is now, nor would Ukraine or any of the rest of the countries suffering food shortages.

There'll be a special drug administration attempt before long - mysterious and fatal application of Novichok and then we'll get that batshit mental psychopath Lavrov in charge.
