Can't stop listening to this.

Little Simz: Point and Kill

Really catchy, tribal and with cool trumpets somewhere in the middle.
... dancy dancy ...

I asked Alexa to play something and it misheard, so I ended up with Mike Oldfield's "Five Miles Out - Remastered" album, which has a second CD of the live tour in '82 that I'd not heard before. Pretty cool.

During the late 70s early 80s there was something in the water of Sheffield.

Sound of a drum machine left in a corner of a large deserted mill...Bass guitar as the lead...wrung out electric guitar...vocals with all hope removed...Yeah you knows it.

Superb re-issue plus it's been remastered.

Guest vocals by Little Annie and Marc Almond.
Made when 2 members of Coil were sharing hallucinations.

Many bands find it difficult to produce the 6th album and make it sound as enjoyable as their previous....not so The Groundhogs....Plus Tony McPhee has a wicked way with his instruments.

This type of music is the softest cushion...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MunkuaSnko0

I think it's the compression in combination with the perfect bass timing. Every transient squelched down.

Thought I'd better listen to some Katy J. Pearson Laughing

Local girl from Bristol (which is where I am going tomorrow)
Not bad, sounds a bit like Stevie Nicks at times.
Cool

Unique crossover music.

Latin African Dance!

Can't go wrong with anything that Analog Africa are putting out.
The remastering is excellent, the artwork and info top class.

I worked in W Africa for a few years.
Drinking was the thing if not working.
Drinking usually involved drinking at the local bars in town.
Live music was a thing too.

Fucking hell.....
They are also dafties for Religion.

When the band stopped making the noise (the cunt blowing into the trumpet sat on his arse) I would shout, Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
A chorus of Amens from the crowd would follow.
I was really just praising the lord for showing mercy on my sense of hearing.

This looks like it's a relatively easy fucker to master. Hollowed Oot Builder's Scaff Plank and some auld Fishing Gut.

^^^It does sound like you were listening to a particular crossover music coined Afroshite.

Thankfully is faded out shortly after you left.

One of the most popular at the time was the Chairman of High Life, Mr. Paapa Yankson.
I think he was from Takoradi. The fishing port.

High Life. is a W. African hybrid.

Musical Analysis:
A lot of Plinky Plinky guitar sounds.
Lots of Marching Band Drumbeats and the odd Tenner Trumpet. (Cunt of a sound after 1/2 an hour being subjected to it.)

I likee https://youtu.be/2BQeNVxRVMU

Ive always enjoyed African music since the early eighties when what'sface started playing it late night ni R1. One of the craziest gigs I went to was the Bundu Boys back in the nineties, great stuff. Their last surviving member lives in Scotland apparently.

This record and I share the same appearance that is to say we've looked a lot better but both functionally spot on.

Seen them a fair few times, the first time on their Chronicles of the Black Sword tour and those dancing girls on stage were a real eye opener for a young lad I can tell thee....loads better than the Kay's catalogue lingerie section.

Bought this from a superb record stall in Hyde market during 1988.
