I used C50 for my base. But only having a really small garden now, I had to build a pretty compact shed. It's about
3.2m x 1.9m internally. Now my bike is finally back in my hands and residing in my shed, it's only just big enough
inside for it and all my other shed stuff. And I now know that getting it down the side alley into my back garden is fag papers
of clearance with the bar end mirrors that are on my bike. It has pretty wide bars anyway. The width wasn't an issue at my
last residence, I had a bigger shed and better access. I'm a little worried about the MT10 on it's way from Japan what with it
being heavier by about 25-30kg than the MT09 I have now. I'm about to invest in a wider alloy ramp which will help with the
angle, amusingly I've seen a wheelchair ramp that looks ideal. The single ramp I have now is fine but you have to
be pretty accurate when backing down it I learned today, almost dropping the Spacker in the process. I don't
know how I stopped it to be honest, I've lost a lot of weight lately because reasons and I'm probably under 12 stone now.
How I caught and then righted that bike I'll never know, probably pure adrenaline. Bloody glad I fitted that grab rail on the rear.

I took the daughter to visit to Senior Consort for dinner at a very nice little pub in Weavering (Kent) called the Fox & Goose. Good grub. Lovely little village.

What was the damage? around £800 odd?

672 incl. vat and barrow service, 140 m³ plus vat.

C50 is a bit overkill but if you only want to do it once I suppose it's worth it.

a head torch. think it will be useful when working in the garage, rather than trying to hold a torch in my gob, when my hands are full.

I've paid more for carpet, and that won't outlast me. This base is reinforced so I hope it'll see me out.

I recently bought a lot of waffles and hot chocolate.
Also erm, some spliffs, but I smoked them - cos I could Mr. Green Thumbs Up
Possibly some, uh ... truffles that didn't work (I think) - they really should use more chocolate in those.
And quite a lot of other stuff: dresses, handbags, sunnies sort of thing.

Actually, hmmm, bit of a spree. Shifty

Cool

A diamond drill bit from Topps Tiles so I can cut a hole in an earthenware dish and make a sand bath which drains rainwater. I spoil those sparrows but a garden without birds is barren. When this year’s birds figure it out they’re very cute. Pigeons, sparrows, blackbirds and starlings are already mad for the water dishes I keep topped up.

The drill bit needed water in the dish to cool it, otherwise it would rapidly become smooth and useless. Mr. Topps (surely it was he) advised drilling through a wet sponge. Worked a treat.

Aviator style sunglasses from ASDA for £6. All I need now is the GPZ900.

Fun fact. Ray ban aviator style sunglasses marketed towards hunters have a circular part in the bridge to hold your cigarette while you shoulder your rifle and take aim.

An IGLOO coolbox. The one we've been using for our (car) camping trips is ancient, was very cheap when new and was originally part of a homebrew kit so has holes in it (albeit taped up these days). An IGLOO BMX came highly recommended; a bit spendy but in theory should last for decades if it isn't bashed around too much.

I bought myself some sheets of mild steel. I'm starting a few night classes, beginning in September, and I want to get my practice in right now. That other path, where a guy in his 50s, 60s or 70s just pretends he knows everything about bikes and has been doing garage rebuilds and restos for years (when in fact he's only just picked up the habit of recreational riding over the past 10 years, and got his licence 6 or so years ago) could never be for me. I'd like to know what I'm doing engineering-wise, and not just pretend I've been doing it for decades. I'm not one of those guys who starts a Youtube channel and implies he knows everything but who in fact knows nothing, rides through a puddle or on some gravel at 4mph and says it's only because he has decades of experience that he didn't just die, etc. So I've enlisted for my classes, and overalls, boots and steel are what I'm buying. I'm willing to start at the bottom.
