Could the availability of firearms not have something to do with the number of school shootings in America?

100% of school shootings involved a gun.

The shootings thing raised a few questions beyond the usual "guns don't kill ppl, rappers do" mantra.

How the fuck did this kid with no driving licence and a part time job at Wendy's end up crashing a truck outside a school and then rolled out laden down with body armour, two rifles (one costing over $2000) and a hand gun (which is illegal to purchase at 18) and copious amounts of ammunition?

How did 19 officers turn up within 2 mins and not shoot the fucker, 150 with the hour and in the end the cunt was shot by an off-duty border patrol guard? (Rumoured to be armed with a shotgun he borrowed off his barber.)

High incidence of drug deaths indicates higher levels of drug use which probably explains the gun and motor vehicle deaths.

An un-corroborated and sweeping statement follows.

Drug and alcohol may be a factor in some road traffic KSIs but that doesnt satisfy the causes for the extremely high incidence of death on the highways.

Poor driving attitudes, inattention, fatigue, etc. (Normal everyday hooman factors) are the main reasons.

Roads are just not considered as a major caise of death.

I can remember the one where the wee boy is sat in the back of the car, mum and dad going on at each other whilst dad was busy driving.
The wee boy was narrating his thoughts about it all as the scene played out.

Then someone in another car 'got in the way' of dad. (Coz dad was too busy arguing with mum and not watching the road.)
He lost it with the other driver and shouted the immortal words,
"Cant you look where you're going?"

I think he was a Scottish dad too.

Here but I guess it could just as easily go into SJW thread.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-61661813

Quote:
Celebrations to mark the 1,900th anniversary of Hadrian's Wall have missed a chance to acknowledge the contribution of ethnic communities to the area, it has been claimed.

Mohammed Dhalech said African and Middle Eastern people got little mention on the 73-mile (118km) route.

The campaigner said more needed to be done to engage ethnic minorities in the area's history.

Organisers of the year of events said it was an issue they were tackling.

Seems noble enough - if Black people have been left off the script and were involved in the building of Hadrian's Wall then yeah, sure, let's put it right eh?

Quote:
"I came here to honour the ancestors, the black history that is right here in the English countryside."

The problem is - err - they weren't involved Laughing

They were, of course, Moors - which at the time of the Roman Empire were almost certainly not black, but Berbas.

Surely someone should research this issue correctly before decrying the racism of it all Rolling Eyes

I expect they are already planning to highlight the contribution of white europeans to building the pyramids.
If we go there presently we feel quite excluded.
Then there are various other world sites need looking at quite urgently.

It's the 'we were always here' narrative, along with 'Britain was always diverse', after years of telling us BAMEs started arriving in 1948 to selflessly save us, they realised that would mean they have no claim to these lands.

Unfortunately the shitlibs and cowards who run these organisations will capitulate and future generations will probably grow up being taught this shite.

Actually there's been myths that people from africa were visiting the UK around the time of the building hadrian's wall for hundreds of years. The odds are there was a lot of trade from Africa to the UK simply to access the tin in cornwall.

You are all getting so very close to spouting replacement theory....

Perhaps the title 'Myths and Legends' should give you a hint about it's veracity.

I mean, going on using those perameters for facts, St. George obviously really killed the dragon and rescured the fair princess.

I did say myths. they were first mooted around 1200s (as far as we can trace them) but they may be well older. IUt's hardly a modern interpretation.

There was trade all over europe and the middle east/africa at the height of the roman empire. Why is is so difficult to think that travellers from ove side of it didnb't visit the other side of it?

That's very different to saying Britain was culturally diverse at that period. The Romans would have imported specifically Roman culture, as the conquerors, and even that didn't stick after they left.

Read about Constantine. Or rather, start there.
But that's the point. You can't claim to know about history if you haven't read any.
And what on earth are you on about, "that got here from Africa"?!

You don't seem t have much expertise on the subject though, although you're quick to make claims. If you want to know about it, read about it. And that doesn't mean 5 or 10 minute dips into Wikipedia. History is a continuous story, not divided into neat little segments to generalise over. It's like the Roman Empire as many seem to 'understand' it - it didn't collapse overnight; there were many things that led to its decline over quite a long period. And Christianity didn't sweep across Europe overnight either. How we got to where we are today is a long and convoluted story with influencing factors from many places and people.

And where exactly is the "Africa-Asia border"? You're being a bit vague Laughing

This was exactly the point I was making which you seemed to object to. The Moors at the time of the build of Hadrian's Wall were not black.

Quote:
He also said a good example of showcasing the area's diverse history was the display of the tombstone of freed slave Victor the Moor from north Africa, at Arbeia Fort, in South Shields.

Quote:
"I came here to honour the ancestors, the black history that is right here in the English countryside."

The Berbas were not black. They were related to the people of the Middle East BEFORE the Arab conquests and had a high % of European genes.

It's at best ill researched, at worst downright dishonest, of the BBC and potentially the campaigners themselves. It's written in such a way as to suggest that black people were Moors and Moors were black people without explicitly saying such.

I am not really sure where you're going TBH Nobby and your knowledge of history seems to be on shaky grounds at the moment, as others have pointed out.
