Has anyone ridden to France from the UK recently (this year), if so what was your experience like with the covid tests, border checks, and are there any requirements for riders other than UK sticker and hi viz vest? Is there anything of note worth mentioning?

Cheers.

Not relevant to it being this year but there are other things you need to be aware of (I mean, you may choose to ignore them but if you do, at least do so from a position of knowledge rather than ignorance!):

Original V5C document
Proof of insurance
Spare spectacles (if you normally wear them)
Spare full set of bulbs for your bike
Crit'Air (clean air) sticker for certain cities I think?
Breathalyser (which nobody bothers with)

Make sure your satnav doesn't have speedtrap warnings enabled as this illegal in France (Le Plod may check it if they pull you over)

Last time I went was pre-Brexit. The only thing of note is that speed cameras can be small grey boxes easily mistaken for a bollard or a power box. You don't even get a fighting chance like with the UK ones. Laughing

I mentioned on the trip while having a quick break in a small town, that I hadn't seen a single speed camera yet, and one of the guys pointed out that I was standing less than 10 feet from one...

On the upside, there are claims that due to Brexit you can't be issued with automatic speed camera fines now (though the Police can still issue on the spot fines). No idea how true that is.

Yes I'm familiar with the speed cameras, got 2 tickets on a trip from Normandy to Arnhem in a car, I was wondering to myself why so many of the cars had slowed down I saw no signs for the speed camera.. well they knew and I didn't Razz
