In fairness they looked like quite diminutive Diegos so could probably have found 'upbikers' helpfull.


Its a know adventure rider fact you need a handful of small children to get a BMW GS across a river.

I still think the CRF300l (at least on paper, haven't ridden it) makes a better buy than both the KLR and the Himmy.

In theory it does motorways fine, and it's also more offroad focused than either. KLR would be heavy to pick up. And the Himmy is less able I think. That said, the lower seat height might be useful for some.

I have a Himalayan. It's a great bike, just ignore the spec sheet. You'll either get it, or you won't.

What I mean is, I would take the Himmy over a GS, but I would take a CRF300 over a Himmy

Yes to smaller and lighter. Most of our byways are muddy, rocky short more technical lanes. Nothing like doing miles or gravel or sand.

whats the budget? intending to do multi day parts of the TET?
