I'm all right Jack 1959. Topical movie given its about Unions and employers. Very funny and on Talking Pictures. Stars Peter Sellers as pompous union rep and Ian Carrmicheal as hapless junior toff who gets a job on the shopfloor of an engineering company. Great turns from the likes of Terry Thomas, John Lemesurie and Margaret Rutherford. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052911/

Everything, Everywhere, all at once.

I dunno out of 10 but its good I think.

Probably the most surreal, silly, funniest, weirdest movie I have seen in a long time if not ever. I loved it, but it was crazy weird.

Incidentally I have recentely also watched both for the first time. I thought they were okay. The first I still don't know what I think about. Half way through it turns into something serious when it was so silly at first.

The 2nd was full of the usual current day woke shite, was okay I guess.

Daughters of darkness

Crazy seventies euro-horror. Honeymooning couple encounter vampiric odd balls at their hotel. Very atmospheric, horror and of course....... Sex. Give it a go.

I've not seen it in forever but that's from what I remember the plot/point of the film, that it starts out [spoiler for a film from 1996...] as a bit of fun messing around with magic, which then starts to have serious consequences.

I remember it being alright but a bit of a girly thing, I think I only watched it cos of a friends sister. The new one I didn't even know existed, I was aware of the series but had no interest in it ...scrap that I'm thinking of the Charmed reboot Laughing

I rewatched Le Mans 66 over the weekend.
I really like it.

I may have inadvertently overlooked Matt Damon.
But Christian Bale was just perfectly obsessed as Ken Miles. Wub

Three Days of the Condor.

Tonights viewing is a seventies spy movie with Robert Redford as a CIA researcher who finds himself on the run after discovering his colleagues have been slain.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073802/

I love these old seventies films, they remind me of watching my old tiny black and white TV late at night as a teen.

Another good Robert Redford one to look out for is The Hot Rock a great heist caper movie.

I may get slated for this (if you've seen it) as it's a bit of a marmite one...

Everything Everywhere All At Once - 8/10

What a crackers film. Funny, very inventive, fast paced, sad. Multiverse theme but in a very unusual concept. Watch it.. you'll either love it or hate it.

The Lost Daughter - 4/10

Netflix. Watched this because Olivia Colman, who can Do No Wrong in my eyes.
Well she picked a belter here - the most pointless, boring film I have watched in a very long time.

Prima Facie - 9/10

This is doing the cinema rounds nationally at the moment on National Theatre Live - ie, it's a film of a live theatre performance.

It's a single-hander starring Jodie Comer as a shit-hot barrister who gets date-raped and finds herself in court at the sharp end of the legal profession. Sounds awful, but honestly - it's utterly brilliant. Comer is breathtaking - on her own on stage the whole time, emotions running the full gamut, firing off her lines non-stop without a break... exhausting just watching her. 100% recommended.

Jodie Comer is my new favourite actress by the way

Wise Blood. 1979

Brad Dourif plays a young soldier returning from Vietnam to his home town in the deep south. He encounters Harry Dean Stanton a blind southern preacher and in reaction decides to set up hisown church, The first Church without Christ. Its a crazy ride with a great intense performance from Dourif.

There are class chick flicks and then there are Puke chick flicks.

The class ones were all of an era, Dirty Dancing, Officer and a gentleman, Flash Dance. Some cracking movies.

Batgirl, 0/10,

You see I know why it was cancelled. It was nothing to do with the story, it's because she's got NO TITS. Evil or Very Mad

Compare that with past women from the Batman films...

House of Gucci 9/10

Fashion, intrigue, power, money, death.
All the usual glitz.

Lady Gaga is really excellent.
Jeremy Irons and Al Pacino ham it up fantastically.
And Jared Leto, wtf Laughing Laughing Laughing
Mad Italian accents, the lot of them: set in the 70s/80s so it seems dated but its all in-period.
Loved it. Wub

I watched this a few nights ago on Netflix (Persuasion). It turned out to be a bloody good flick. Something about the main guy triggered the empathy, quite weird. And this track was the finisher. Highly recommended.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwh5xi9UE7A

The diversity bollocks was just that of course, utter bollocks. I was waiting for a few trans and a troupe of fking dwarves towards the end.
